Ravens K Billy Cundiff Signs RFA Tender

Baltimore Ravens restricted free agent kicker Billy Cundiff has signed his one-year tender, Paul Sheehy, Cundiff's agent, announced on Twitter.

Cundiff, an undrafted free agent out of Drake, was tendered at the "Right of First Refusal Level". For now, Cundiff is the only kicker on the Ravens' roster, but the Ravens are expected to bring in a veteran to compete for the kicker's job this summer.

Should Cundiff make the Ravens' 53-man roster, he'll have a base salary of $1.226 million dollars in 2010.

In 70 career games over parts of six seasons with the Ravens, the Dallas Cowboys, New Orleans Saints, and Cleveland Browns, Cundiff is 78-of-106 (73.6%) on field goal attempts, with a career long of 56 yards.

It's been a busy off-season for Cundiff, who attended the NFL's Business Management and Entrepreneurial Program at the Wharton School of Business in February, turned 30 in March, and according to Sheehy, became a new father last week.

Cundiff's NFL career has included stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Kansas City Chiefs, and Detroit Lions.

Cundiff is the first of the Ravens' 15 restricted free agents to sign his tender.
