Rams Sign K Shaun Suisham

The St. Louis Rams have signed free agent kicker Shaun Suisham, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

In 57 games over five seasons with the Dallas Cowboys (2005-06, 2009) and Washington Redskins (2006-09), Suisham is 87-for-110 (79.1%) on field goal attempts, and 101-for-103 on extra point attempts. Suisham also had brief stints with the San Francisco 49ers and Pittsburgh Steelers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent out of Bowling Green in 2005.

Suisham was signed and released earlier this summer by the Cleveland Browns, and his stint with the Rams figures to be equally as brief. Rams kicker Josh Brown has a "tweaked hip", and will be held out of Saturday night's pre-season opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

To clear a spot on the 80-man roster, first-year tight end Eric Butler has been waived.
