Raiders LB Thomas Howard Signs RFA Tender

Oakland Raiders restricted free agent linebacker Thomas Howard has signed his one-year tender, reports David White of the San Francisco Chronicle.

The 38th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft out of UTEP, Howard was tendered at the "Second Round" level, and has a $1.759 million dollar base salary for 2010.

Howard (6-3, 240) has started 62 of his 64 games with the Raiders, finishing second (2006-07) or third (2008-09) on the team in tackles during the last four seasons. During his career, Howard has totaled 381 tackles, 4 quarterback sacks, and 7 interceptions, including a team-high six INTs in 2007, two of which he returned for touchdowns.

With Howard signed, cornerback Stanford Routt is the lone Raiders restricted free agent who has not signed his tender. The Raiders placed the "First- and Third-Round" tender on Routt.
