Pete Carroll Discusses LenDale White

Today was the Seattle Seahawks' first practice since releasing running back LenDale White on May 28. Naturally, head coach Pete Carroll was asked about the decision to release White.

"It was just time to just move ahead," Carroll said, according to Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times. "I think he needs to go somewhere else and find a spot and it wasn't going to be here. That's it."

"Not necessarily, no," Carroll said when asked if Seattle were in the market for a short-yardage back. "He had a chance to fit and be part of a role, but it didn't work out. We're looking for guys with unique [skills]. Guys that bring something special and something unique to them and try to give us a good spread of talent and style at the running back spot."

O'Neil adds that running back Leon Washington has switched numbers, and is now wearing No. 33. (Washington had been wearing #30)
