New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft remains confident that the team will sign quarterback Tom Brady to a long-term contract extension, reports Albert Breer of the Boston Globe.
"We’re very lucky to have him as our quarterback and we want him to be our quarterback for a long time into the future," Kraft said. "Everything he represents is pretty special. He’s a winner. We’re privileged to have him a part of the New England Patriots organization."
Brady is entering the final season of a six-year, $57.3 million dollar contract that will pay him a $3.5 million dollar base salary. The 32-year old has expressed a desire to play until he's 40 years old. The five-time Pro Bowl quarterback could command between $80-$100 million dollars, with over $40 million dollars in guarantees, on a six-to-seven year contract extension this off-season.
