Moss Awarded to the Titans

The Tennessee Titans have been awarded wide receiver Randy Moss off waivers, Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean reports.

Sports Illustrated's Don Banks reported earlier on Wednesday that the Titans had claimed the 33-year old wide receiver, but with it was not clear until after 4pm ET if Tennessee--who sat 22nd on the waiver-wire order--would be awarded Moss.

Tennessee, who will likely be without wide receiver Kenny Britt for several weeks, inherits the final year of Moss' contract, which has $3.38 million in base salary remaining over the final nine weeks of the season.

Moss has five days to report to Nashville, which he's expected to do. The Titans have a bye this week.

Moss (6-4, 210) has 22 receptions for 313 yards 5 touchdowns in eight games with the New England Patriots and Minnesota Vikings this season.
