Haynesworth Charged in Road Rage Incident

Washington Redskins defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth has been charged with simple assault after a road rage incident in Reston, Virginia, Tom Jackman of The Washington Post reports.
Haynesworth was not arrested, but is expected to turn himself in next week.
The incident in question occurred on Wednesday morning, with a 38-year old driver of a 1994 Honda Civic issuing a "non-verbal hand gesture" to the driver of a pickup truck he felt was following him too closely.
When both vehicles were stopped at a red light, the driver of the pickup truck--alleged to be Haynesworth--exited his vehicle, exchanged words with and then struck the driver of the Civic.
According to Jackman, simple assault in Virginia is a Class 1 misdemeanor, punishable by up to 12 months in a county jail and a $2,500 fine.
