Giants QB Jim Sorgi Out 2-3 Weeks

New York Giants quarterback Jim Sorgi will miss 2-3 weeks with a right shoulder injury, Mike Garafolo of The Star-Ledger reports.

Garafolo adds that Sorgi's injury, which occurred during the Giants' 31-16 win over the New York Jets on Monday night, is unrelated to a torn labrum in Sorgi's shoulder that ended his 2009 season.

With Eli Manning out after sustaining a three-inch gash to his forehead, the Giants officially added quarterback Dominic Randolph to the roster.

Randolph (6-2, 218) set Holy Cross and Patriot League records with 13,455 passing yards and 117 touchdown passes during his career with the Crusaders. Randolph signed with the Giants as undrafted free agent in April, but was waived in the middle of May.

Randolph also had a brief tryout with the Baltimore Ravens this off-season.

Rookie tight end Jake Ballard was "Waived/Injured" to add Randolph, reports Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
