Giants Place S Michael Johnson on IR

New York Giants safety Mmichael Johnson has been placed on injured reserve, reports Zach Berman of The Star-Ledger.

Rookie cornerback Brian Jackson has been elevated from the practice squad to take Johnson's spot on the 53-man roster.

Johnson was a seventh-round pick (224th overall) out of Arizona in 2007. In 49 career games, including 35 starts, Johnson has been credited with 159 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks, 10 passes defensed, and 3 interceptions.

Johnson missed Sunday's 29-10 loss to the Tennessee Titans with a back injury.
