Dolphins Waive DE Clifton Geathers

The Miami Dolphins have waived defensive end Clifton Geathers, Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com reports.

Linebacker Erik Walden has been re-signed to take Geathers spot on the 53-man roster.

Geathers (6-7, 281) was a sixth-round pick (186th overall) out of South Carolina by the Cleveland Browns, who waived him on September 4. The Dolphins claimed Geathers off waivers, but he was not active for the team's 15-10 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Walden was a 2008 draft choice by the Dallas Cowboys who has 13 special teams tackles in 17 games for the Dolphins between the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
