Dolphins Re-Sign TE David Martin

The Miami Dolphins have re-signed veteran tight end David Martin, reports Omar Kelly of the Sun-Sentinel.

Martin has 152 receptions for 1,519 yards and 14 touchdowns during his nine-year career, which began as a sixth-round pick (198th overall) out of Tennessee by the Green Bay Packers in 2001.

Martin signed a three-year, $3.5 million contract with the Dolphins in 2007. Martin caught 65 passes for 753 yards and 5 touchdowns in 31 games (22 starts), but a knee injury landed him on injured reserve for the entire 2009 season.

Signing Martin adds depth behind Anthony Fasano, and Martin should push Joey Haynos, John Nalbone, and Kory Sperry for a roster spot.
