The Miami Dolphins will place cornerback Al Harris on injured reserve with a hamstring injury, Mike Berardino of the Sun-Sentinel reports.

Harris, who turned 36 on Tuesday, had three tackles in three games for the Dolphins.

A sixth-round pick out of Texas A&M-Kingsville by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997, Harris has 21 career interceptions and 4 quarterback sacks during a 12-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles (1998-2002) and Packers (2003-09), where he earned two trips to the Pro Bowl following the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

After tearing three ligaments in his left knee and his hamstring last November, Harris underwent reconstructive surgery in December and opened the 2010 season on the physically unable to perform list.

The Packers released Harris on November 8, and he was signed to a one-year, $1.75 million contract by the Dolphins on November 10. Harris will earn 8/17ths of that amount, which comes out to around $825,000.
