Derek Anderson Gets the Starting Nod For the Cardinals

Arizona Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt has named Derek Anderson the starter for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Whisenhunt noted that the Cardinals heading into a tough environment like the Metrodome was a factor in his decision to name Anderson the starter. The Cardinals also travel to Arrowhead Stadium in two weeks, with a home game against the division-leading Seattle Seahawks separating the two road contests.

Anderson, a Pro Bowler in 2007, opened the 2010 season as the starter before he was replaced by undrafted rookie Max Hall, who has started the last three games for the Cardinals.

Anderson has completed 53.5% (83-of-155) of his pass attempts this season for 980 yards and 4 touchdowns this season. Anderson has also tossed seven interceptions and been sacked 10 times, compiling a passer rating of 62.8.
