Cowboys WR Dez Bryant Won't Play in Pre-Season Finale

Dallas Cowboys first-round wide receiver Dez Bryant will not play in the team's pre-season finale Thursday night against the Miami Dolphins, reports Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones made the announcement prior to the team's Kickoff Luncheon at Cowboys Stadium.

Bryant suffered a high right ankle sprain on July 30, which has kept him out of practice and all four of the Cowboys' pre-season games thus far. Bryant returned to practice on Tuesday, and has expressed a desire to play in the game.

Since Jones cuts the checks, Bryant will have to wait until September 12 to make his NFL debut against the Washington Redskins on NBC's Sunday Night Football.
