Colts Sign RB Javarris James Off Redskins Practice Squad

The Indianapolis Colts have signed rookie running back Javarris James off the Washington Redskins' practice squad, the Washington Post reports.

James, the cousin of former Colts running back Edgerrin James, is an undrafted free agent from Miami. The 6-0, 215-pounder led the Colts with 85 yards rushing, and added six receptions for 28 yards during the pre-season.

James spent the early part of the season on the New England Patriots' practice squad before joining the Redskins earlier this week. By being signed off a practice squad, James is guaranteed to earn three game checks, worth $18,824 apiece.

To replace James, the Redskins added rookie running back Quinn Porter to the practice squad.

Porter gained 77 yards on 21 carries for the Green Bay Packers during the pre-season. The undrafted free agent from Stillman was waived by the Packers with an injury settlement last month.
