Colts S Bob Sanders Out Indefinitely With Torn Biceps Tendon

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that Indianapolis Colts safety Bob Sanders is out indefinitely with a torn biceps tendon.

The oft-injured safety has missed 24 of 32 games between the 2008 and 2009 seasons, including all but two games last season. Sanders was injured during the Colts' first defensive series against the Houston Texans on Sunday.

Sanders was scheduled to undergo an MRI on Monday, but did participate in the team's light workout on Monday.

When healthy, the 5-8, 201-pound Sanders is a difference-maker in the secondary, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors after the 2005 and 2007 seasons. The Colts have grown accustomed to playing without Sanders, however, with Antoine Bethea developing into a Pro Bowler and Melvin Bullitt developing into a solid safety, as well.

Bullitt had four tackles and interception as Sanders' replacement on Sunday.
