Chiefs 1st Round S Eric Berry's Deal is Done

Kansas City Chiefs first-round safety Eric Berry announced on Twitter that his deal was done.

"Bout to head to st. Joe!!!," Berry wrote before adding, "Aka the deals done!".

The Chiefs hold their training at Missouri Western State University in St. Joseph, Missouri.

A three-year starter at Tennessee, the 6-0, 205-pound Berry totaled 245 tackles, including 17.5 for a loss and 3 quarterback sacks during his career. Berry also intercepted 14 passes, which he returned for 494 yards and three touchdowns.

Berry was a three-time All-SEC selection (including two first-team nods) and a two-time first-team All-American during his 39-game career as a Vol.

Berry entered the 2010 Scouting Combine as the top defensive back, if not top player, available in the 2010 NFL Draft. Berry solidified that status by running a 4.4-40, and posting off-the-charts athleticism via a 43” vertical leap and 10’10” broad jump.

The 5th overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft will start immediately at free safety, adding a much-needed dynamic play-maker to the back-end of the Chiefs’ secondary.
