Chargers WR Vincent Jackson to Report Next Friday

Unsigned San Diego Chargers restricted free agent wide receiver Vincent Jackson will sign his tender and report next Friday, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports.

Jackson is on the Chargers' "exempt" list, and by rule, needs to sit out three games after reporting to the team. This will keep him out of games against the Tennessee Titans, Houston Texans, and Denver Broncos, before he's eligible to return for the final six weeks of the season, gaining an accredited season towards unrestricted free agency.

Jackson's tender, which was originally worth $3.268 million, has been reduced to $682,000, 110% of Jackson's 2009 salary. Because he can only miss a maximum of three game checks after coming off the "exempt", Jackson will receive 7/17ths of his reduced tender amount, or $280,824 for the 2010 season.

The 6-5, 240-pound Jackson is coming off a career season, catching 68 passes for 1,167 yards and 9 touchdowns, earning his first trip to the Pro Bowl. Jackson has 198 receptions for 3,400 yards and 25 touchdowns since being chosen by the Chargers in the second-round (61st overall) of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Colorado State.

Jackson was suspended for the first three games of the season for repeat violations the league's personal conduct policy in regards to his two DUI convictions.
