Chargers OT Marcus McNeill Signs RFA Tender

According to player agent David Canter, Diego Chargers left tackle Marcus McNeill has reported to the team and signed his one-year tender.

McNeil was a second-round pick (50th overall) out of Auburn in 2006. The 6-7, 336-pounder has started all 62 games he's been active, earning trips to the Pro Bowl after the 2006 and 2007 seasons.

As a player with four accrued seasons, McNeill's restricted free agent tender had been worth $3.168 million in base salary for the 2010 season. However, because McNeill did not sign the tender by June 15, the Chargers reduced the tender to $630,000.

The prorated amount of McNeill's base salary, including the three weeks on the "roster exempt" list, is $444,706.

Because McNeill was placed on the roster exempt list in August, the earliest he'll be available to play for the Chargers is their Week 6 game against the St. Louis Rams
