Buccaneers Sign 3rd Round CB Myron Lewis

Tampa Bay Buccaneers third-round cornerback Myron Lewis has signed a four-year contract, the team announced on Monday.

Financial terms were not disclosed. First-year defensive end Maurice Evans was released to fit Lewis on the off-season roster.

A three-year starter at Vanderbilt, Lewis totaled 170 tackles, including 10.5 for a loss and 5 quarterback sacks, 10 interceptions, and a pair of forced fumbles and fumble recoveries during his 46-game college career. Lewis earned second-team All-SEC honors after last season.

At 6-2 and 203 pounds, Lewis is the big, physical cornerback the Buccaneers prefer, who could one day be paired opposite Aqib Talib in the Bucs' starting lineup.

Lewis is the second member of the Buccaneers' 2010 draft class to sign a contract. Fourth-round wide receiver Mike Williams signed on June 4.
