Broncos Sign Pair of Wide Receivers

The Denver Broncos have signed free agent wide receivers Patrick Carter and Britt Davis, the Denver Post reports.

Rookie wide receiver Patrick Honeycutt has been waived, while wide receiver Kenny McKinley (knee) and safety Josh Barrett (back) were placed on injured reserve.

Signed by the New York Jets in 2009 as an undrafted out of Northern Illinois, Davis caught 5 passes for 54 yards during the pre-season before being waived. The 6-2, 205-pound Davis was added to the practice squad in November, and signed a "Reserve/Futures" contract in January. The Jets waived Davis on August 1.

Carter played his college ball at Louisville and entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2008. Carter has also spent time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and was most recently with the Seattle Seahawks, who waived him on June 9.
