Broncos Sign DE Jason Hunter

The Denver Broncos have signed free agent defensive end Jason Hunter, reports Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post.

Hunter began his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers, totaling 32 tackles and a pair of quarterback sacks in 42 games before being waived in May of 2009.

Claimed by the Detroit Lions, Hunter started nine of 14 games last season, posting career-highs in tackles (34) and quarterback sacks (5). A restricted free agent this off-season, the Lions tendered the former undrafted free agent out of Appalachian State at the "Second Round" level this off-season, which was due to pay Hunter a $1.759 million base salary in 2010.

Hunter was released by the Lions on Monday.
