'Twas The Night...

'Twas The Night...

Somehow the Lounge made it to our second annual Christmas post. Although it will never compare with the first one, I still extend my wishes to every Packer fan... in poetry.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the Bay

Not a creature was stirring expect McCarth-ay

His assignments were planned on the white board with care

In hopes Jarett Bush might someday be there

Dom was asleep in his over sized bed

As visions of prevents replayed in his head

And while Mason crabbed Kleenex, and Jolly drank sap

We all settled in for a long Green Bay nap.

When out in the night there arose such a clatter

It sounded like Clay making quarterbacks splatter

Away to the window I flew much like Will

And I opened the blinds and popped open the sill

I strained through the darkness to see just below

That the noise was coming from within Lambeau

When what to my wondering eyes should appear

But undrafted wide outs clad in full gear

In front scowled a man gently down on one knee

I knew in an instant it must be... TT

More rapid than Donald directions they came

As he yelled and he shouted and called his own game

Run slants, run hooks, run double move hitches

Quit whining, quit crying, only babies need stitches

To the back of the zone, to the top of the wall

Lambeau leap, Lambeau leap, Lambeau leap all!

In the dead of the night he made those rooks fly

While from my cold window I figured they'd die

Up the stairs to the concourse those recruits they flew

Carrying all of Ted's presents after wrapping them too

Just then, on the field, formed an eye blinding glow

Refracting all over the fresh tundra snow

I squinted my eyes and looked out to the nigh'

As one Mr. Greg Jennings appeared from the sky

He was dressed all in fur as he came down to herald

No surprise making bank just like Larry Fitzgerald

His junk was slung over from shoulder to back

To keep the fresh powder from freezing his sack

He said not a word but went straight to his work

Torching those rookies with merely a smirk

Then down on one knee with a finger up high

He winked one more time and rose back to the sky

Ted would just stare, take pause, blow his whistle

And those recruits left town as fast as a missile

He paused for a moment his face filled with glee

Then rose from the turf brushing snow from the knee

But I heard him exclaim as his feet hit the ground

Nice job, not too bad, second pick... second round

Merry Christmas to everyone who comes around and makes this place what it is... a poor excuse for a Packer site.

See you Sunday.
