There has been a ton of conversation in the few days since Brett Favre decided to speak his mind yet again and let the world know how he felt, as if no one was going to comment.
Well now it's your turn.

The opinions of Brett Favre vary greatly.
To some, Brett Favre is irrelevant.
To others, is a hick from the sticks who saw the lights of Broadway but is dazzled more by his own imagined brilliance but shouldn’t be. Some liked him a lot better when they called him “Country”.
And finally to some, he is the one who turned the Packer franchise around, won a SB and three MVP, and wiill go down in history as one of the greatest football players of all time. Put GB back on the map (last guy to do that was Vincent T Lombardi). He will be inducted into the HOF as a Packer.
As one who would retreat to the farm in Mississippi every off season, there are those who feel he is not the sharpest tool in the shed, and should lay off the corn liquor when speaking.
His recent comments about Aaron Rodgers and his surprised a Super Bowl wasn’t won sooner by Rodgers took Packer Nation by storm, and many feel that he needs to relocate to Guam where he can’t bother anyone ever again as a result of his opening of his mouth. There are those who feel he should retire a Viking, so he can never harm the Packers fans again.
Finally, there are those who think that Brett Favre should shut up and go to Green Bay and apologize for the way he has acted. Maybe then the Packer Nation could forgive him.
No one knows exactly how the story of Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers will end-it is a script which has yet to be written. But one thing that is certain is that people will continue to talk about his impact on the Packers for years to come.
Love him or hate him, he will never cease to be a talking point, and that is what is equally awesome and frustrating for so many.

All you said is true but is tarnished by his actions since he left Green Bay. You might want to pass that "please act like a mature, rational adult" comment on to Brett. There's one thing that you left off your list, maneuvered his way out of NY to play for the Packer's most despised rival, the Minnesota Vikings in an act of pure spite. I won't forget what he did for us but I'm having a hard time forgiving him too. Maybe in time, but not now.

Should he have retired so you could deal with it better????
The real issue is how you chose to handle him moving on.
We all wanted Brett to be ours, and only ours. Packers didn't want him and he almost took the Vikes to the SB. Again, why are you upset with Favre for leaving a team that no longer wanted him? It's his life - not yours.

I wasn't upset about Favre leaving the team. At the time, I thought they should have kept him at least another year. When he ended up with the Jets, I was still cheering for him. It was the way he weaseled his way out of NY (who had a pretty good team)so he could play for the Vikings. That is what upset me about him. Like I said previously, that was a pure spite move. It tore my heart out to see him in a Minnesota uniform. That's when I quit being a Favre fan.

...should be welcomed back to the fold asap. If Lombardi and Lambeau could leave for the Redskins and have statues put up for them, Favre can come back as well.

His name and legacy are not tarnished in my mind. That's how I dealt with him leaving. And guess what, we get Aaron Rodgers. Im thankful that since 1992 we've had only two qbs that are both hall of famers. I will never forget Brett Lorenzo Farve's career with the Green Bay Packers.

Don't let the thumbs down from readers dissuade you or anyone else-that's the entire point of the post. Every time Favre speaks, it's either therapy or fuel to the fire depending on your particular emotion towards him.
He transcends the Packers, and will continue to do so
