Difference Makers

Difference Makers

Would we have won with them on the team? Would some of these 4 point losses have been wins if we had THEM? I’m not talking about fancy free agent moves, I’m talking about our hurt players.

Yes, once again I am talking about injuries. It was just our year for getting hit big. It happens, but I will ask you this: Would it have been different had these players been playing?

YOU! Answer me.

Would we have lost against the Bears by three points if Atari Bigby was playing? How about Nick Barnett chasing Matt Forte and not AJ “I slipped” Hawk? What about Cullen Jenkins, our second best pass rusher? Lord knows Orton forces it when he’s under the tiniest amount of pressure, would he have forced more bad throws if Cullen was there? Would Bigby have caught the bad passes and not dropped them like the other safeties?

Would it have made a difference? I am curious as to what packer nation feels about it. Most say you can’t use injuries as an excuse, and I agree, but you can’t ignore them all.

We should have won most of these games we lost, but would we have won them with Nick Barnett, Atari Bigby, Mark Tauscher, and Cullen Jenkins playing?

The games would have been different, that’s for sure. Whether we won or lost, I don’t know. I think we probably would have.

Would these players being on the field have made a difference? Your thoughts on this are welcomed by me. I know most or your thoughts on whether we should have won these games are, so please sideline those. I want to know if we would have won these games with these players on the field.

I think we would have had a better chance.

Hmm, not many people have opinions on THIS take on things. I find that interesting.

I just think that when you start talking about injuries in this way, it sounds like an excuse. To me, it is either an excuse, or it isn't. Whenever you follow, "I'm not using the injuries as an excuse.." with a "BUT....", then its an excuse. The injuries this year have been unfortunate. Thats all I'm going to say.

For me it goes beyond injuries. One win in your last ten games? The lions may be the only team in the league with a worse record than that. They would have provided relief by it is in no way an excuse for how terrible they've been the past 10 weeks. That goes for the entire coaching staff.
