Williams Suffers Shoulder Bruise, Further Evaluation Needed

Head coach Mike McCarthy classified cornerback Tramon Williams' injury as "positive from what they thought," perhaps meaning it's not serious.

Head coach Mike McCarthy said Friday in his usual day-after-game press conference that cornerback Tramon Williams has a shoulder bruise but that they'll have a "further evaluation" on Williams next week Wednesday when they return to their regular practice schedule.

McCarthy said the injury was a "positive from what they thought," perhaps indicating that it will not a serious injury in which he'll miss an extensive amount of time.

The Packers have off this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, but will practice in some fashion both Monday and Tuesday before the return to their regular seven days between games schedule on Wednesday.

McCarthy also said safety Nick Collins has a bruised wrist but anticipates he'll play next week.

This is great news, I don't know why, but I was really gripping over losing Tramon for an extended period.
I'm hoping they can handle Carolina without him, give him a rest and come hard at da Bears.

Whew -- that makes me feel a lot better. None of the IR buzzwords in there.

Now, to sit back and relax and enjoy football sunday with no stress (love getting the packer game out of the way and being able to flip among the rest of the games on Sunday).

Nice to have an extended break before next week's game. And it's nice to play the panthers next week. And we can just put Raji at Corner in week 3 against the Bears.

McCarthy said the injury was a "positive from what they thought," means nobody is telling anybody else that matters anything they don't need to know to gain an edge, same as it ever was.

If it's just a bruise and Tramon is back soon, what a huge break(pardon the pun). IMO Tramon is our best player in the secondary (yup that includes Wood and Collins).

If rest will help, let him take off the semi-bye week against Carolina. In fact Neal should take that week off too.
