Tomlin Rules Pouncey Out

Steelers starting center Maurkice Pouncey has been ruled out for the Super Bowl by head coach Mike Tomlin.

From Adam Schefter:

Mike Tomlin told Suzy Kolber that Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey did not practice and has been ruled out of Super Bowl XLV.

While this is a big blow to an already suspect Steelers offensive line, Doug Legursky, Pouncey's back up, played serviceably  in his place against the Jets. Not only that, but Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has already won a Super Bowl with a terrible offensive line. Such is his ability to create plays when his protection breaks down.

That said, it is definitely a big development, and a positive one for the Packers.

I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me wants to see the Steelers at full strength so when we beat them there will be no excuses (as if we didn't have our own injuries). Part of me would like to see a guy at 75% playing against Raji. Now Legursky knows he's going to play, and won't be jumping in cold, so to speak.

Factoring everything in, hell yeah this is good news for the Packers.

This is really a game changer, Pouncey might be their best offensive player. I dont watch the Steelers, but center has to be a big cog in their run game. They you consider the middle push that Raji or Jenkins can get up the middle on pass rush.

So far, I've yet to hear a pundit or steeler fan give any reason for less than a PACKERS BLOWOUT. Nobody has even mentioned how bad their kicking game is. I even heard there is no way the Packers win if Rodgers in not the MVP. Tramon has been equal or more of a contributor and I have yet to hear his name mentioned. He's my MVP prediction.
