Thompson Speaking This Morning

There's no live feed so I'll be waiting for the coverage, but expect a lot of this sort of thing from Thompson:(from Doug Farrar's Twitter feed)

There are ends we now see as linebackers, tackles we see as ends...

As always, scintillating stuff from the master.

I would ask:
======================
Pretend you are the General Manager for the Green Bay Packers (Ted Thompson, nor Mike Sherman ever existed) and enlighten us as to what you would 'make public' to the fans, and obviously the 31 other NFL teams who are looking for every edge in stompin' your butt and ruining your chances at winning the Lombardi?
======================
======================
I see this rhetoric constantly on some websites, with a decided agenda. And, while I get it that there is some humor to the commentary. I, personally, spend more time in being politically incorrect as opposed to assisting some drumbeat in the background. I'd really like to hear a genuine response as if you really are the GM and it's YOUR backside on the Line for potentially having given away the farm with some "scintillating, 5-hour energy" insider expose' just to allow some feelgood time for the fans in prior to FREE ANGECY and THE DRAFT.
==============================
Having a Scout.com premium account gives me access to all of the sports out there and I simply don't see any GM's, Owner's or Head Coaches spending time worrying about being wide-open "here's what we're gonna do and NO ONE's gonna stop us" .... so go ahead and try... type press interviews. THEY ALL clam up and don't say much at all when it comes down to brass tacks. They all allude to the fact that (yes) we hope this or hope that about their personnel. But, it's never any more entertaining than that. Incredibly BORING stuff.
===============================
At the end of '07, Ted Thompson was cheered as the GM of the Year. MAC came in 2nd to Belicheck - It's a TEAM sport and that means FAVRE had help pulling off such a great season - he didn't do it all alone. Personnel were brought in to do their part. The wideouts could have dropped pass after pass or fallen down on the scrimmage line killing every play. Much like Ahman Green did against Philly at Lambeau, with rubber elbow protectors in the rain no less - our RB's could have dropped one hand off from the Gunslinger after another.... the Players stuck it out and the Team got it done.
==============================
Curious how one season later no one can seem to remember all the accolades the Pack was getting, even from the VERY BIASED, anti-Packer four-letter network.
=============================
If Ted Thompson wants to keep everythng close to the vest, then he's doing the Team a big benefit in protecting their future plans from being blown apart well before fruition. Down here, we NEVER hear Bill Polian worrying about being "scintillating"... even when he was just on the Radio with JMV during the opening salvo of yesterday's prep to today's Combine Events. He very much said a whole lot of NOTHING. Absolutely nothing... we heard squat, nada! And, if anyone's got issues with their Team (especially just losing Tony Dungy) and having to break in a new Head Coach ... the drama down here is just as high for the Colts as it is for Green Bay bringing in Dom Capers. The Colts DC also just walked away causing an undercurrent of drama as to the real reason why (???) Yet, Polian wouldn't go near any of it. Not a drop. You got the very same 'no-doze needed' response, along the same lines as how TT responded to the question(s).
=============
I would luv to hear some Team's head hondo let the cat outta the bag... so we can watch the repercussions, like listening to Top Ten AM Radio Hits of the 60's. One entertaining "uh-oh" after another. Have to take the opposite stance, fellas ... Packers Mgmt is keeping the home fires burning better than other teams who don't think there's any harm in flappin' their yaps.
=======================
JMHO .. disagree all day long.
I don't have the animosity for TT that I "learned to have" for Mike Sherman, his predecessor. It's seriously like night & day with the two. And, Coach Mac does run a more strict almost Lombardi-like environment - which I think MOST of the players truly respect. Just how I see it.
