These Packers Career Milestones Are Within Reach This Season

The Green Bay Packers enter the 2021 NFL season with talented players on both sides of the ball. Many of these players have a chance to move up the Packers all-time career list in several categories and make their mark on the 102-year history of the Packers franchise.

Here is a look at several Packers milestones that are within reach this season:

1. Aaron Jones, Career Rushing Yards

Jones has played four seasons with the Packers and presently stands 11th all-time in franchise history with 3,364 yards rushing.

Jones has gone over 1,000-yards rushing in each of the last two seasons. If he gains 1,000 yards this season, he can move from 11th all-time in rushing yards, all the way to fourth all-time. The players Jones would pass if he gains exactly 1,000 yards this season would be Eddie Lacy, Paul Hornung, Gerry Ellis, Clarke Hinkle, Dorsey Levens, Ryan Grant and Tony Canadeo.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Rushing Yards

Presently, Rodgers is 13th all-time in Packers history with 3,271 yards. Rodgers has averaged about 165 rushing yards in each of the last two seasons. If Rodgers gains 164 yards this season, he would pass Eddie Lacy and enter the Packers all-time top 10 rushing list. Lacy presently has 3,435 career rushing yards.

3. Aaron Rodgers, Career Touchdown Passes

Brett Favre is presently the Packers all-time leader in touchdown passes with 442. Rodgers is second with 412. That means A-Rod needs 30 touchdown tosses this season to tie his predecessor and 31 to become the team’s all-time touchdown pass leader.

Favre has a touchdown pass percentage of 5.0 with the Packers while Rodgers has a 6.3 average. By comparison, Favre threw 286 interceptions in a Packers uniform while Rodgers has thrown 89.

4. Randall Cobb, Receptions

The Packers re-acquired Randall Cobb in a trade with the Texans last month. That gives Cobb a chance to move up the Packers all-time reception list.

Presently, Cobb is seventh with 470 catches in a Green Bay uniform, just ahead of Boyd Dowler and Antonio Freeman.

Cobb needs 18 catches to tie Hall of Famer Don Hutson for sixth place and if he can somehow catch 60 passes, he can tie James Lofton for fifth place all-time with 530 catches.

5. Davante Adams, Receptions

The Packers top pass catcher is presently fourth in franchise history with 546 career receptions. He needs just four catches to tie Jordy Nelson for third place and if he can make 49 catches, he will tie Sterling Sharpe for second place all-time in franchise history for 595.

All-time leader Donald Driver is still 197 catches ahead of Adams which means Driver’s all-time mark is safe for at least one more season.

6. Davante Adams, Touchdown Catches

Adams is fourth in franchise history with 62 touchdown catches. If he matches last year’s 18, he would pass Sterling Sharpe for third place (65) and Jordy Nelson for second place (69).

Hutson remains in first place by a wide margin with 99 career touchdown receptions in 11 seasons with the team.

7. Randall Cobb, Touchdown Catches

Cobb is now 12th on the Packers all-time list with 41 touchdown catches. He needs four touchdown grabs to catch James Jones for 10th all-time. James Lofton is ninth with 49 and Max McGee eighth with 50.

8. Mason Crosby, Points

Crosby is already the Packers all-time leading scorer with 1,682 points. In fact, he holds the franchise record by 628 points over second place Ryan Longwell. With 108 points this season, Crosby can become the first Packers player to score 1,800 career points.

9. Za’Darius Smith, Sacks

OK, this is a tricky one because sacks have only been an official statistic in the NFL since 1982. That means some of the Packers all-time great pass rushers like Hall of Famer Willie Davis and Ezra Johnson, do not have complete official sack totals.

With that caveat, Za’Darius Smith enters 2021 in 14th place on the Packers all-time official sack list with 26. He can break the top 10 if he can manage six or more sacks this season which would tie him with Vonnie Holliday and Nick Perry with 32. A 10-sack season will tie him for seventh all-time with Tony Bennett.

10. Aaron Rodgers, Seasons Played

If Aaron Rodgers plays one game for the Packers this season, he will be on the team’s roster for his 17th season. That would make him the team’s only player to spend that many seasons with the franchise. Right now, he is tied with Bart Starr and Brett Favre with 16.

I hope Mason Crosby sets the record during the regular season and I hope they are all extra points. 108 points divided by 17 games is 6.3 TDS per game. That’d be nice.

The record that interests me the most is World Championships and we sit at 13 which is the current NFL record. I would like nothing more than to break that record this year.
