The Packers Should Roll

The Detroit Lions are a team the Packers should handle easily and by 'handle easily' I mean they should be up by 30 at halftime. I know a lot of the talk coming out of Detroit is how they are re-focusing for their home opener after being embarrassed by one of the worst teams in the league, but don't believe it. This Lions team is in complete disarray and will be lucky to win 4 games. (Alright, you could say that about ANY Lions team, but this one has extra special Messed-Up sauce on it.)

It's amusing to see that after an off season of workouts and mini-camps, a summer of training camp and four preseason games (all of which the Lions won) you would  think the coaching staff would have a pretty decent handle on who their starters should be. Well, apparently Rod Marinelli reeeeeeaaally didn't like what he saw on film from last Sunday's game, because he has benched a starting corner and a starting safety and is on the cusp of making a change at right tackle. (The only thing holding him back on that decision is that the rookie who would be playing would be facing Aaron Kampman - not a good idea)  Now the corner in question, Travis Fisher, is below average and has been since he came into the league with St. Louis and he probably deserves to be benched - but why on Earth did it take the Lions an embarrassment of monumental proportions to realize it?

Marinelli seems like a good guy but he is lost as a Head Coach and is not even in the same zip code when it comes to Mike McCarthy. The only way the Packers lose this game is if Woodson, Harris, Kampman and Rodgers all spontaneously combust and Jon Kitna discovers superpowers he never knew he had.

I've seen enough crazy games in Detroit to cringe at a post like this. Your right about one thing: the Packers **should** win.

If the Packers are going to win the Super Bowl (and we can all agree that's the goal, yes?) this is a team they should destroy, no question. It's not even close. Yes, At Detroit has been problematic in the past, but not since McCarthy has been coach. In fact, if anything, the Packers have been better on the road than they have been at home.

Well, one of your colleagues at Packers Therapy said he saw this as a rebuilding year a few podcasts back, sooooo....

But I agree with you, when I see Detroit on the schedule, I am thinking "W".

Thanks for reminding me why I don't need to listen to Packers Therapy. ;)
