GOOD: At least they made it look like a game at the end.
BAD: Officials picking up flag after obvious PI penalty on Tonyan. Could have won a challenge on that last year.
UGLY: EQ. Put in Taylor and make EQ earn his way back in practice. If he can't at least he won't kill us in games.

I go back to that 3 down sequence when cook caught the screen. And in those 3 downs. There was alot of good. But all that good set us up for failure. First down. Cook stuffed by martin for short game. He was hit hard too. 2nd dwn. Barnes flies thru gap to get cook in outside run in the backfield. Now comes 3rd down. Packers and barnes especially are noticably and finally fired up in the huddle. Im thinking fucking finally. Some fire. But then. The youth shows. They are so fired up that nobody in the front even noticed and read the play. So yeah lowry n lancaster suck. But martin n barnes will get better. I see promise in both of them. And on the back end, only vernon scott had a chance. Everyone else swallowed up by blocks. Good call by zimmer.

Good - Nothing
Bad - Play calling in second half.
Ugly - NO brainer. The defense or lack thereof.
Did you see how slow they were calling plays and their lack of energy in the 2nd half?

The good: There were no fans in the stands to see the idocy of a Petine demoralization. And should be the final nail in Coach Petine's coffin.
The Bad: The defensive linebackers looked lost all game. I kept hoping someone was going to wake them up and remind them they are in a NFL GAME here. Defensive line, really wish someone would step up and at least become 1/2 a play maker. Packers are in desperate need of some "play maker" talent on D.
The ugly: Home and division loss on a short week. Just once, I would love to see the Packers NOT play down to an underdog opponent. JUST FUCKING ONCE !!!

Obviously - don't outsmart yourself - the (extremely) good was Rodgers and Adams. In these conditions, AR was brilliant - just one mistake: the overthrow of Sternberger. Adams was clutch, even if he didn't have huge yardage.
The Bad: I hate to blame officials, and I don't blame them for the loss, per se, but how the heck did they pick up that flag on an obvious PI on 4th down?! A crucial call, to put it mildly.
The Ugly: The run defense, of course.
ESB's back-to-back drops off of two brilliant throws by Rodgers.
The third-down drop was a throw that only AR makes-- threaded it with a perfect easy-to-catch pass despite traffic. And ESB compounded it on 4th down by not coming down with that pass that was right in his hands. A tougher catch, but can we get a second WR (other than the now-injured Lazard) who doesn't suck!

This is what happens when they trade away their playmakers: Za’darius Smith, Rashan Gary, Kenny Clark, and Dean Lowry and are without the services of their highly touted young guys Montravius Adams, Kingsley Keke and Tyler Lancaster. Even a ragtag Oline like Minn can render us useless.
Oh wait.....

Sure, the Vikings may have also been undermanned, but all they really needed was Dalvin Cook to tear our defense to shreds.

I’d love to see fault analyzed on the D line. I saw Keke getting stood up but he played very few snaps. Is it fair to say Lowry was abused all day? He played almost 3/4 of the snaps.

Good: An 8 and a 9 minute drive in the first half.
Bad: Anything suggesting GB had a defense, worse than the Vikes undermanned D.
Ugly: the prospect of facing SF in 4 days.

I am pretty sure MLF & Pettine had their money on the Vikings today.
Was Rashan Gary in the game today?
Cut both Smith bros. at end of season. They are to this year's failed defense the same as they were to last year's successful defense. Use the savings to pay perennial stars - Bak & Jones.
Acquire a DL and WR2 before the deadline.

Id say hold off on cutting z smith. We just need better run stuffers around him so he can do what he does. P smith unfortunately is quite the disappointment so far.

If we wanted a play to measure the performance of Preston Smith by it came in the first half.
In week 1 on a goal line stand Preston Smith pinballs the Vikes TE Irv Smith back into Dalvin Cook to stuff him and effect a goal line stand.
This week, Preston Smith gets owned by an Irv Smith block on the same play, leaving a gaping hole on the edge for Dalvin Cook to saunter through and get chunk yardage off.
Preston Smith should be eating TE blockers alive, that’s not good enough.

"Was Rashan Gary in the game today?"
Gute wanted Gary more than he wanted Brian Burns. Burns has 10.5 sacks to date. Gary has 3.5. It's still early in both of their careers. Maybe Gary will ultimately prove the better player in the long run. I go back and forth on whether Gute makes bad choices or Pettine cannot turn those choices into players. Which makes me think there is a little bit of both in the mix.

Gary played remarkably little. Odd since he his good against the run. Adams saw fewer snaps too, as Keke. Lowry played most after Clark and he has been poor against the run. Doesn’t make much sense to me, but then OLB and D line usage haven’t. Clark is back so it seems it wasn’t just due to injury.

The Good. Bahk ,Jones and King will return. The improvement of Tonyan and Sternberger. The Bad- Pettine/ The Defensive Line. Cook is not Barry Sanders. The ugly- The OL. - I've seen enough. When does the Fire sale start? Lets be honest. 15 mil. isn't going to happen. The Ravens need a Lt. It's time to get Dalvin Tomilison. Lets face it. Z.Smith, Tomilson , Clark, and Gary should be the DL. King is Tradable.

Bad. Tackling. Angles. Dean lowry. Preston smith with his lack of umphhh.
Ugly. The ugly truth is sometimes i feel like i have more passion from my couch then these guys on defense. Dean lowry getting pushed all over. Get him off of the field. 1st and 30 was also ugly.

Yeah. From my point of view (the couch) it sometimes looks like its just a job for these guys. But at least aaron gets angry. Or gives the young guys praise when they do something right. You ever see z smith or jaire or anybody being the coach on the field out there?? Wheres the accountability?? Wheres the charles woodson of this team ? Tramon was sort of that guy last year. These dudes better show up thursday. But if they dont... Whos gonna call em on it???

You are putting way too much emphasis on this. AR is the ultimate competitor. Did you not see him go after Suh a few weeks ago?
AR has played hundreds of games. He knows that this is an athletic competition, and that the opposing team is not the enemy like a war. Most sensible NFL players also understand that they are part of brotherhood.
Fans put much more emphasis on these appearance things than the players and coaches do.

You may be right ..I just feel it'd odd ..if our teammates see him laughing .. not sure that would inspire them .. AR should be in the face of players ...not as intense as Brady but down 2 TD' I wouldn't fine anything to laugh about .. that's just me...

The Good - Knowing this team isn’t good enough to deserve to be in play off contention. The Bad - Pettine will probably be retained. The Ugly - It appears the Packers are the team in need of being rebuilt. This defense is just unable to stop the run. The franchise needs to figure this out or it’s easily better luck next season sooner rather than later. Go Pack Go.

The ugly was so bad, I missed the good and the bad.
Why in the world couldn't the defense stop Cook. The Pats head coach, Belichick has taken away the best player on teams they played for decades. In the high winds, I just feel that Mike Pettine should have put as many in the box as it took to take Cook out of the game. I believe we would have had a better chance to win that game had Pettine played their receivers one on one and forced the erratic Cousins to beat us with wind gusts going to 40 mph.

The Bad and the ugly?... Gute and LaFleur
Gute for not fixing what obviously needed fixing; WR, DL, and failure to fire Pettine. Last few drafts, using a #12 pick on a project who has no pass rush moves. Using a #2 pick on Dillon when the draft is full of great WRs and you desperately need one. He's proving to be the second coming of Thompson, poor drafter and unable to put together a D. Even his great FA signings, the Smiths and Amos, are just guys this year.
LaFleur is to me just a glorified OC. He seems not to have a clue about Defense. Saying the problem, after this game, was lack of turnovers proves he's either clueless or lying to protect Pettine and himself. He almost seems uninterested in the D as we rarely hear him mention it in any meaningful way. He has to learn It's not all about him and Rodgers becoming friends.
The buck stops at the top, with Gute and LaFleur, and despite the good record over the past two years, no one in Green Bay should be overly excited by a team that when it loses it's in such an embarrassing fashion. Losses to 49ers last year, Tampa Bay and this monstrosity today... we continue to allow other players and teams to set all-time records against us. If by some miracle we make it to the SB what will Mahomes or Lamar Jackson do to this defense?

The Good: Rodgers and Adams.
The Bad: Our defense, ESB and the officiating.
The Ugly: The lack of a sense of urgency, aggression, toughness and tackling by our defense. They were literally unwatchable. They might make one or two decent plays then give up big yardage on 3rd downs.
The defense played like the offense will score 35 -40 points every week so they don’t need to make any stops. How is it that we know the Vikes offense is Cook and we have no plan to stop him? Why don’t we put 8 or 9 guys at the LOS?? Why are we giving their receivers 7-10 yard cushions??? Where is Clark, our LBs and Safeties? What is Pettine doing?
It’s one thing to go to Tampa and get beat, it’s another to fail
to show up and play on your home field against a division rival. Don’t even bring the defense to SF for Thursday’s game. Thanks, Since ‘61

The good is Devante Adams and the TE play.
The bad is the defense; all that money spent and these high draft picks and the defense is still crappy. Pettine needs to go; why not stack the line to shut down the run and make Cousins beat you.
The ugly was there was no sense of urgency in this game and that falls on the coaches.

Good = We play in the pathetic NFC North and Pack fans who get excited about winning this shitty division should be able to celebrate again at the end of season.
Bad = Gute somehow believes Marquez Vales-Scantling, Equanimeous St. Brown, Darius Shepherd, and Malik Taylor are good enough WRs to be on this team.
Ugly = After 26 sackless games, Lowry probably bought himself another 3+ years in Green Bay because he got an (unblocked) sack today. So much fun watching Dean, Tyler Lancaster, and Montravious Adams play DT these past 3-4 years. What a great trio.

The Good: Our scripted plays at the beginning seem to work each week. Martin looks and plays with an attitude and grit.
The Bad: Rogers laughing and exchanging pleasantries with the Vikings toward the end when the game was still on the line. Not good optics for me. Would rather see someone more pissed and focused.
The Ugly: The sloppy play and the unforced penalties that killed drives. Not the questionable penalties by the refes. The Vikings wanted it more than we did. They dug deep; we didn't appear to. Our overall Defense and lack of grit.

Rodgers was yucking it up with the Vikings all game. At first, it seemed like cockiness when they drove so easily for a score. Later he was projecting an attitude like "Who gives a shit?" Rodgers and LaFleur don't exactly inspire the same confidence when they're behind as do Wilson and Carrol. Rodgers just doesn't seem to have Wilson's intensity or urgency. In his defense, Rodgers is a very smart guy. He knows he's missing a receiver and he knows the D stinks. But he can't say it. He was accused of pushing Mac out. He can't mouth off now about what's wrong with the team. It must be frustrating to have to hold all that in.

There was no good for me. I agree with an analyst who says when a QB and receiver get to much in tandum, the other receivers start to lose interest in not being part of the plan. Too much Rodgers to Adams bs.
Bad, entire defensive scheme and lack of playmakers.
Ugly, drafting guys who were injury prone in college : lazard, Gary, king, Alexander, Savage, Jones.

The Good: AJ Dillon showed why he was a 2nd round pick, good running and receiving, he was the go to on that drive.........then we barely saw him again......
The Bad: The overall lack of urgency and fire......There was none....This team is missing something.......no accountability either.......They get punched in face then lie on the floor and chill.......It is becoming increasingly clear this team does a poor job of handling adversity........
The Ugly: Cook blasting through holes untouched... ...I bet no one on the Packers defense contracted Covid-19 today as they did an outstanding job of social distancing

In both of green bays losses this year, the opponent has thrown for a whopping 160 yards each game. One was a blowout, the other was a 1-5 team... And they put up 28 and 38 points each respectively. If they don't figure it out, it's another wasted season.
The good: Considering the weather, you couldn't ask for much more from a passer than what rodgers provided. The only real miss that jumps off the page was to Jace. But based off of the pregame field goals, it's a miracle he was able to complete as many of those as he did.
The bad: tackling. And unfortunately, Mr. Savage just isn't progressing. I wish we could say it is simply rust, but he hasn't shown that he's ready to take the next step. Offense doesn't have enough capable receivers.
The Ugly: the defensive coordinator. The fact remains that green bay has three out of five players on the defensive line who are pro bowl caliber players. The players on the defense aren't inferior. The defense is horribly vanilla, plays very soft coverage, and is apparently very easy to scheme against. Within about a second of the snap on almost every big play you could watch the sea part as pulling lineman, motioned TE's, and fullbacks manipulated the defense with ease.

We used to say similar things about Collins and Sharper at this stage of their careers. Safety often takes a while to click.
However, most of the D outside of the starting corners has looked off this year. I’m starting to wonder if Pettine isn’t getting less from his players not more. Certainly widespread regression would suggest something is wrong at the coaching level.

Good - finally, I don't hear any calls to just burn the tape and move on.
Bad - the fact that there is probably nothing Gute can do now to fix the team this year - it's just hope that getting Lazard and Jones back will be enough. Seems like the last GM we had.
Ugly - Realization that Gute might not really care since AR is not his man. He is preparing for after Rodgers anyway.

Yeah I could feel the prospect of AR getting another ring in GB slipping away this game. This team lacks grit when it faces in-game adversity and there is too much money on the field on the defensive side of the ball for them to be playing this badly. Lotta ballgame left I guess, but it's hard to envision the current iteration of the team doing much against top-quality opponents.

The ugly bad: Mike Pettine. Packers D played like an 0-15 team in minus 25 degrees looking forward to the warm locker room and the offseason. His defense plays softer than a girls powder puff flag football team down 45-0 with 30 seconds left in the 4th quarter.

He put a moving zone in place in the second half, the same d the Bucs used to confuse out boy Rodgers and it worked great for them. So much so he only trusted Adams to get open and avoid close coverage.

Good: AJ Dillon showed some pop. It is about time we give him the ball in short yardage situations. I love Jamaal, but he slimmed down and does not bring the hammer any longer.
Bad: Run lane responsibility and integrity. Packers never have it. Is Kenny Clark worth the money paid...he was getting pushed.

This defense is soft. When things are going good and they are dancing, posing and mugging for the cameras, they have some fire and energy. When there is a little adversity, they give up. My wife, a casual fan, watched a little of the third quarter and said, “They look like they want it to be over so they can go home.” After a couple minutes it was obvious to her.

Good: Davante and our O Line. Davante scores 3 Tds all by his lonesome. Our O line protected Rodgers most of the game
Bad: Our Clock management all game long. Why did we line up with seconds on the clock and go through a long count by Rodgers only to have time expire in the half? Who else can step up at WR when the vikings were triple teaming Adams? I think it is Malik Taylor, but we stuck with ESB and MVS.
Ugly: Our run defense may have done just enough to get Pettine fired. Maybe that shouldn't be in the UGLY category.

The D players are not responding Pettine. Maybe he just is not a very good coach.
5 starters on D are 3rd rounders or higher. Two more are mostly on the bench (Jackson and Burks). 3 more starters are high priced FAs.
Are these 10 defensive players just lacking talent and were whiffs by Gutey ?
Or do Pettine and his coaches not know how to teach them and maximize their talents? Several of these guys are even regressing.

The Good: Bob Tonyan makes another big grab. Not a perfect throw and in stride catch, but still a big gainer. This is our TE.
The Good: We're 5-2 and in first place. Our QB is standing up and healthy. We had over 100 yards rushing....without our starter. In fact, the Packer offense was missing Jones, Lazard, and Bakhtiari. Throw in Lane Taylor and that's four out of eleven starters that are missing. And our FG kicker.
The Good: Rodgers was 27 of 41 with three TDs passing. 291 yards. 1 sack. On a hard wind day . A couple of his incompletions were throwaways and a couple could have been caught.
The Bad: An extended dry period for the offense began at 6:53 remaining in the second quarter. That's when we scored our last points until 2:47 remaining in the game. By my count, that's over 33 minutes of nothing. During that time the Vikings had two long TD drives and a long TD pass/run by Cook and it was 28-14. We had three fruitless possessions .
The Bad: Minnesota threw 14 passes, reminiscent of the Championship game last year . This is the offense I'd like the Packers to have, the one that can win without throwing the ball. We could not stop Cook and he was the Player of the Game.
Look, I watched Gale Sayers tear up a Packer defense that had a bunch of HOFers on it. It happens. Sometimes, good runners get good blocking and they had a good night of sleep and they just take over the game. You are never as good, or as a bad, as you look but the run defense is just ineffective if it can't force the other team to throw.
The Bad: Rodgers game face. Teams follow their leader. If you want a team that's getting whupped at home by a division opponent and can smile about it, then that's what we've got. Dude. Put your game face on and keep it on. There's nothing to be smiling about there. Fix your team's attitude.
The Bad: The Non-PI call on Tonyan. I agree with Dean Blandino....that was PI. I don't like to bitch about officiating because it's what losers do, but that was a big , BAD call on something that was pretty easy to see. How is that guy's arm that is wrapped around his waist before the ball got there NOT interference?
The Ugly: Reaction of so many alleged 'fans' on this fanboard. We're in first place and yet this "team is shit", the players "suck", individually and by units, Pettine should be fired, Gutekunst is an incompetent............

I liked your post and like your posts in general.
However this line: "We could not stop Cook and he was the Player of the Game." I would rather you say we did not stop Cook and we should have done so. That failure is on Pettine. I'll still give you a thumbs up. Good job.

Matchups at the LOS. Just flatout beat, first time I'm seeing that this year. And first time this year a Referee crew was so active in a game. NOT good for the NFL at all.

The good, over half season to play at least
The Bad there is over half the season to play
The Ugly, no defense, spineless bad tacklers, hint to all on def side spend more time with technique and less time patting yourself on the back for actually making a tackle. Running to the big screen, really some of you are making tons of money to do just that tackle the bad guys. no adjustments are on HC and DC clueless at this point. Same defense first half as second, 14 passes you never forced the issue. d line sorry but it is what it is, swiss cheese. Run happy 49ers are going to review tape long night Thursday big boy pants with a backup of Depends. Lets see who will bite the steel nail show some testicular fortitude. The Good - the game is over and the Vikes accomplished what they set out to, save their season, feel good about their situation and focus on a winning streak and the playoffs.
The bad - the packers allowed the Vikes the good above and with ease and penalties
The Ugly - the wait for management to get playmakes on defense. ALexander if he aint holding he's waving goodbye to receivers he cant keep up with. Gary, only misses big games where he might get man handled and look folish. What a waste of a 12 pick.

The good - Davante Adams, Robert Tonyan
The bad - Penalties that ruin momentum, lack of fire, and clock management
The Ugly - As always, the run defense.
