The Good--- a WIN, albeit UGLY
The Bad-Special teams--- After 3 weeks of noteworthy performance, a BIG step backward. Returns gave up field position all game long. New England was purposely kicking off short because they knew we coundn't get it back to the 25. Now THAT's bad.
The Ugly--- See above.

The Good: Aaron jones was just what they needed yesterday. Safety play was pretty good after Amos left
The Bad: Special Teams are back to being the GB Not so special team we know. Run defense certainly didn't show up either.
The Ugly: In front of home crowd they let Pats dictate the tempo, perfect game plan play great defense and run the ball on the Packers weakness. joe Barry made us remember he is pedestrian at best as a DC. All summer long the hype for the defense and 3rd string would have beaten you had BB trusted him in OT 3 and 5 at Pack 45 yard line. Lucky

I want the heads of Stokes and all of the officials of this game. Not even going to give them ink in the BAD or UGLY section.

The Good:
Win at home albeit by the skin of our teeth. Thank you Mason.
Allen Lazard's ridiculous catch on third down and long was a key huge factor in saving the game.
A tip of the hat to Aaron Jones for his 110 yards. (mostly by himself)
Gary in an animal. Love him.

Bad:
Aaron Rogers clearly was not up for this game. There was no in between with him during this game, he was either total shit or he was threading the eye of a needle. And by the way Pretty Boy, Get your head back in the game like it was your 2nd or 3rd year playing and stop the Primodonna attitude. It not only shows but it GLARES.
Coaches did NOT have the players up for this game.
The offensive line was at best second rate today, esp on running downs. And don't get me started on pass protection.
I think the jury is still out on the Doubs TD drop. The ground can't cause the out. He had it in possession until he hit the turf.
When will this coaching staff figure out how NOT to play down to inferior teams?????!

The Ugly:
Our defensive secondary. Can anyone think of a play maker on it? One standout play? Can anyone think of a single play that helped us on the secondary?
Joe Berry - You're working your way up my shit-list.

The Funny:
Hey Bill, when throwing a hissy and trying to smash your headset into the turf make sure you have enough slack in the cord so the headset makes it there and don't come back and smack you in the nuts.....

The close:
Just like last week, happy for the win but still have this gut wrenching "WTF was that?" feeling. The only difference is this one WAS NOT WINNING UGLY.

Brits, here we come. Would be nice to put on a show over there and give us fans back here that warm and fuzzy win feeling....

Go Packers !

Doubs flubbed the ball. The ground cant cause a fumble if your running and fall down, but a receiver is different has to hang onto the ball through the whole process, he flubbed it.
He has shit hands just like Watson or they would have gone late round one. These guys were passed on for a reason. I think we know the reason. Realibility.

"Can anyone think of a play maker on it? One standout play? Can anyone think of a single play that helped us on the secondary?"

May I remind you? 3rd & 6 from their 6 yard line. Pass went to the receiver for 1st down. Ford just poped out from the grass and battled the ball away, forcing the fumble.

If you want to spit on anyone, at least watch the game carefully. And there was other good passes they were defended. I remember this one because it was at the end of the 4th Q.

The offensive line was second rate on running downs? Jones averaged almost 7 YPC. Playmakers in the secondary? The secondary gave up 136 passing. You have a problem with that? Both Savage and Douglas has a great TFL play. And the most talented guys at each position were out with injuries.

Yeah they need to play better but this gnashing of teeth after a win gets old.

The Good: Aaron Jones. Sometimes I just marvel how good this guy is. I will admit I thought it was stupid to pay him. He is making me and many others eat their words.

The Bad: Being unprepared. Do we have to give up points to start every game and come out flat? The team looked asleep the first quarter.

The Ugly: The refs on the missed delay of game penalty resulting in a TD. These are supposed to be the best football refs in the world. The guys reffing my son's league would have easily made that penalty call. The fact that this is not reviewable makes it even uglier.

If you ignore the times he didn't set the edge and they got gashed in the run game sure, he was great.

The Good: Aaron Jones. Good hard runner. Was basically our first half offense.

The Bad: 1st Half Aaron Rodgers. Body language, missed throws and unnecessary Pick Six. Two different guys 2nd half Rodgers was good.

The Ugly: Two hand touch run defense in the 2nd Half. Completely unacceptable. Packers have the bodies and talent up front and linebackers to fill gaps. Yet they were gashed when EVERYONE at Lambeau knew they were running the ball. Scheme? Coaching? I’m not the expert but if this continues Joe Barry should be removed IN SEASON. Very lucky to escape with the W. Defense should be a given for this team as offense evolves. No excuses here.

I feel like screaming every time I see only two DL on downs which a run is very possible. That’s blockers automatically getting to our second level. Geez Louise….

Good: An Ugly win still counts as a win. Character win. Gary is a beast! FG operation looks good so far.
Bad: Once again play calls, not sticking with the run, going for big plays rather than just move the chains.
Love Mason but he has no leg for kickoffs, especially will be worse when it get cold, so our ST cover units
better be sound cause we will see lots of returns like the Patriots did getting them good field position.
Ugly: # 12 first half. Good thing he rose to the occasion when game was on the line. He was great when he
needed to be.

Glass half full: Lose the turn over battle and still win the game.

Glass half empty: Manage a win but, only play half a game.

By the way, anyone know what was time of possession? Haven't seen it today. Thanks

That's true but for me TOP is a very misleading statistic. Points matter. For example the Pats had the ball for 19 minutes in the first half but only scored 3 points on offense.

In this era of the NFL teams can score points very rapidly. It's more a matter of how efficiently the team plays when they have the ball than how long they have the ball. Thanks, Since '61

Since, you are right about good O. I just want to point out that D was completely fatigued.

They were 20 minutes on the field fighting heavy pressure from Patriots OL supported by 2 TE or 6th OLiner. Barry played very occasionaly 5 DL front, mostly 4 DL front and 2 of that front was OLBs. Not helping the cause...

Good: Gary, whom I considered might be a bust after year one (I’m still eating crow —my bad);
Bad: LaFleur’s milk-toast uninspiring, unenthusiastic, unprepared, teams.
I swear his facial expressions remind of a child’s first visit to a butterfly pavilion;
Ugly: The pathetic officiating crews assigned to Packer games each week. Apparently a delay of game penalty doesn’t occur until 5-seconds after the clock has expired.
Oh yes—and overseas games are an incredibly stupid idea.
Go Packers!!!

No he is a bust considering he gets his one sack against a newbie who is filling in and then he goes missing. I saw him gasping for air like he was ready to drop over. Mr Gary put on some weight and cant go every play. Donald goes every play. Gary was a 12 pick

Nagler, nice guy, love your passion and consistency but as usual you missed another one. I guess I still owe you as I was the #1 Gary is a bust guy. However, in game coaching/adjustments continue to be the one reoccurring weakness off the staff. The best example if the KC game where the staff left Love out to die under a relentless blitz scheme. They never adjusted.

I give you the playoff failures and the inability to adjust. Yesterday you saw a real coach, with vastly inferior talent adjust to the packers and almost win. That’s what I mean by making adjustments. If the Packers made them, great I didn’t see the expected result.

Sooner or later we won’t have the best are in the business. Lastly one more dig…..best corner in the league? We’ll There was a corner who dominated and shut Jefferson down this year and he was not named Alexander. Adjustments!

Good: the field goal that won the game
Bad: Not getting out young receivers involved in these games now so they are ready if we make the playoffs. Its not like other teams dont see us not using these guys and thus not covering them much. The better teams will load the box like the Vikes to stop the run and force yahoo to pass the dam ball.
Ugly: the entire game plan scheme. You cant tell me that is LeFleurs game plan, I aint buying it. This is Rodgers game plan and LeFleur is letting it happen as were winning.

Good: The drinks the team had at the bar they went to Sat night
Bad: That they were hungover Sunday at game time
Ugly: That the coaches went too.

(It's the only reason I can think of for so much bad play and coaching!)

The Good: Aaron Jones,Cobb, Lazard, Doubs, Rashon Gary, P. Smith, Quay Walker, Aaron Rodgers in the second half.

The Bad: ST coverage teams, Jenkins at RT, coaching and lack of a sense of urgency in the first half, our receivers in the first half looking totally lost on the field.

The Ugly: Officiating, especially missing the delay of game call. Clark taking a bad penalty and our punt return player blocking an NE player in the back twice and costing an unnecessary penalty. WTF!!??

Packers need to stop beating themselves, especially on offense. OL needs to be better, Jenkins in particular in pass pro. Better ball security. Our receivers need to impove their route running. These are all coaching issues that should be cleaned up by the 4th game of the season. On to London. Thanks, Since '61

Very simple with Green Bay Defensive Coordinator Joe Berry either does not have the ability to adapt to adjustments or is to stubborn and this will be the downfall of this team . Joe Berry is an excellent linebacker coach , but their is a reason he was let go in Detroit and Washington and even passed on by Mcvay for the rams coordinator job when Staley got promoted to the chargers. Packer fans can argue all you want but when he has outcoached any offense with green bay in the yr and half he has been here ? one game the playoff loss to san fran last yr ok. This is on Lafluer he hired him and new exactly what he was . Their is enough sample size to see Joe Berry cannot or will not adapt . If the talent stunk ok but come on they have top 5 defensive talent . Lafluer needs to give the defensive coordinator position to Jerry Gray he won't but mark my words teams like buffalo , rams, chiefs etc. will eat him alive .

Let the thumbs down homer session begin

I agree with these comments.

Just when I feel "Passive" Joe Barry is gone he suddenly reappears! My god, 2 safety high coverages on a 3rd string QB? When the Pats put a massive OT in at TE, don't you think they want to run and ADJUST? Given that Jones wasn't going to play and their 3rd string QB took over, it had to be OBVIOUS that the Pats were going to run the ball a lot against the Packers! Did Barry adjust? No, as usual. Maybe Passive Joe should have gone into a more conservative career and become a banker? Lord knows, he hasn't risen to the level of his players.

Joe's lack of urgency/stubbornness/conservativism is keeping this defense from being the leagues' best! WAKE UP JOE!

First the good: MLF stayed disciplined with the running game which helped take pressure off the passing game especially in the second half. It felt amazing actually watching the team be on the other side of the coin as AJ Dillon rushed for 5-6 yards a pop in the waning moments. Too often GB has been the team that couldn’t stop that.

The bad: MLF not giving Jenkins (who’s clearly not comfortable at RT) any TE help or running back chips on third downs in critical times.

The media has such an infatuation with making AR12 look bad. What’s sad is how much Packer fans have bought in. As if no one has ever cursed themselves or shook their heads in disgust when they screwed up. But the implication is that he’s pissed at his receivers. It’s pretty bad how media is able to shape peoples opinions and thoughts to fit whatever narrative they want. Take this example for what it’s worth, notice how shows like sons of Anarchy have you rooting for a gang of outlaw bikers to succeed? It’s all about the narrative. At no point in life would people ever root for killing bikers that run guns.

The ugly: When will Barry flip the switch so a light goes off? Why TF are they playing nickel with a third string qb who had passed for 99 yards through 3 and a half quarters? The back end is supposed to be lock down there’s no way the D should play nickel especially on first and second down against a third string qb. We will see if there’s an ability to adapt this upcoming week since Saquon Barkley has ran very well and Daniel Jones may be out. We can’t have teams shortening up games the way New England did. They ran the ball hell they could’ve sent over the game plan since everyone in the stadium knew what was coming and still didn’t get out of nickel.

The Good - of course Jones getting 100 yards despite horrendous Oline blocking - thank TGIS for our big blocking tight end M Lewis
The Bad - Stokes playing off 5 yards of every receiver - I thought he was supposed to our next big shadow - too much cushion all the time - He caught Barryitis?
The Ugly - I could dump on AR - but I am not - I could dump on Doubs for the fumble and drop - but I am not - This is all about Lafleur not having the team ready to handle the Pats in the first half - I know we are going to run the ball - but we couldnt - no movement or jet sweeps or any way - even those short dumps to Jones didnt get any yards. And the tackling on Defense ( still the Head Coaches responsibility) - Defensive ends and Outside linebackers not doing their job on wide contain.
Finally - a W is still a W - but eventually those types of games will turn around - and we now have 3 teams in a row were we probably will be favored and that scares me.

How many comments above seem to reflect the poor coaching defensively and offensively given the talent on this team?

MLF is always out coached. His team is NEVER prepared when the game starts! It takes him until the first half to make adjustments. But I guess that's better than Joe Barry who is too scared/stubborn/passive to make ANY ADJUSTMENTS.

The Pack deserved to be boo'ed at the end of the first half! Thank god some offensive adjustments were made at half. Its a win but a very shaky one at that. Does this team REALLY deserve to be in the top 5 or even 10 ratings? Not so sure.

Was this team over-confident as Jones wasn't starting at QB? I'd like to think not but it sure looked that way. Bill B is a great coach who always gives you a strong game. I sometimes how many Super Bowls the Pack could have won over the Rodgers era with a coach like Belichek at the helm? Ah, to dream...

A little bit over the top - I mean - 3 13-3 seasons in a row.???? I just think - and that was what my comments meant to say that he has so far this season not adapted to not having 17 and MVS - and the oline not getting their footing yet. I also think that he has gotten a little bit stagnant in the red zone and his lack of lateral movement - which allows the other teams D line to tee off on our Oline.

Just my opinion but have you ever seen so many passes being tossed to nobody? And the Pick 6? Rodgers still doesn't know where the receivers are going to end up on a "read" route. Week 1 he was visibly pissed off at these young receivers. But after reading his press clippings (and a chat with the boss), he has toned it down and is now cataloging the misses but improving his body language. If you noticed, the 2nd half included a lot more passes to veterans (Cobb) who understand the scheme and the experience playing with Rodgers.

You nailed it. It’s in Rodgers nature to make decisions based on his esoteric knowledge of the game. I love that he has a great football IQ but it’s unfair to the newbies at receiver. The TV focusing on the him is not helpful to crowd opinion. When Sammy gets back and the receivers get up to speed I expect that things will look better.

As far a Barry’s defense. I am sorta ok with it. Let them run but keep them from making a long pass. The third down defense was good. Yet I also agree with posters that sometimes our fronts were severely undermanned
