As far as the text, you can do what I do from time to time. Just hit the CC (closed caption) button with the sound off if you're at work. Can't guarantee the spelling is always the best, but you can figure it out.

Good: having a defense that can win us games
Bad: not sure our offense can do the same
Ugly: we won an away game against a division rival to open the season. Nothing too ugly in my opinion.

I agree with the guard play and Taylor was worse then Turner. I think Jenkins will become the starter and at LG before RG.

The offense, overall, was bad but was also playing against a very good Bears defense. Clearly, the offense is a work in progress. Some of that work could have been completed during the preseason but the coaching staff chose not to do so. I understand some of the reasoning but still think getting the starters some live game action was necessary.

Good/Awesome- Watching the defense and special teams excel! (What a treat)
Bad- Rodger’s continual war with the play clock.
Ugly- Nothing...we won!

Good: The speed on defense. Jaire, Savage, King and Amos will have their share of takeaways this season. Also, we are flying under the radar. Most analysts seem to think the Eagles, Cowboys, Chiefs and Patriots will still be standing at the end.

Bad: Balanced approach? If the run gain fails, do not hesitate to air it out. Let Rodgers be Rodgers! We should go with the flow of the game, especially if the defense is stout.

Ugly: At some point this season, we will fall victim to the new rule changes. For instance, I love Hollman’s coverage potential, but he uses his hands a lot. I can see a couple of challenge flags thrown for pass interference. Hopefully, we will have a sizeable enough lead to overcome the refs. Go Pack Go!!!

You can use your hands more in College than the NFL. Jaire was pretty handsy to start last year too. I think he'll grow out of it.

Good: (1) We have a pass rush that can get home. (2) We have a punter that can change field position.

Bad: A running game that struggled against a very strong Bears defense.

Ugly: Our guard play. We've seen this movie before, like most of last year.

Bad - AR. Gonna keep putting him in bad column until he shows that he can change. No excuse WHATSOEVER to throwing a short pass at receivers feet just like last year. I'm guess he hasn't practiced that pass much. I'm tired of hearing him say "I've got to play better" while earning that much $.

So driving the team to the game’s only TD on 4 perfect passes plus driving for a key add on FG without a ground game, a porous interior OL (same as last season), one legit WR who was taken away by the defense isn’t good enough to overcome one underthrown ball.

What happens to the 18 completed passes plus no picks plus running for first downs and running to get Crosby close for the add on FG?

If Rodgers goes 18/30, 208 yards, 1TD and no Ints and we win the next 18 games, go 19-0 and win the SB l’d sign up for that right now. Thanks, Since ‘61

I think there were at least three under thrown balls. And some others that were just off target.

By most objective measures, Rodgers was an average NFL QB in Week 1. Not above average, not below average. Average.

I don't mind average as long as he protects the ball. What I do mind is people smearing crap on the rest of the team so that average smells better.

So when our line is described as porous....? Especially when it isn't, and wasn't last year either. With some people, it's always somebody else's fault when Rodgers struggles. Even Rodgers admitted after the game that he hadn't played that well.

I accept your critique of my post that AR wasn't really 'bad'. But missing these short throws has just got to stop and I don't want AR thinking that it's not a big deal as long as he makes bigger plays. The one off JG's foot/turf was almost a pick 6. I hope MLF or somebody can get through to him to get this fixed.

And the Packers aren't paying AR to be avg.

Rodgers is, and always has been, one of the worst QB's in the league in terms of very short passes- let's say within 3 yards of the LOS. This includes screens, etc.

Zero touch(almost always a fastball), poor aim, throws at ankles and feet as the rule. I personally think he is so concerned about the chance of a pick-6 (if a defender gets a pick at that range, there's almost nothing between him and the end zone) that he consciously has made the decision to throw short passes where it's unlikely ANYONE will catch it, rather than giving the receiver the most catchable ball possible. The exception is those quick-hitters to the WR at the boundaries immediately at the snap if he sees off coverage. Otherwise, Rodgers is the worst extreme-short yardage passer in the league.

As long as GB wins, I, too, don't care if the defense is good, bad, or indifferent. Ditto for the offense, and individual players. That is a results-oriented viewpoint. It isn't analysis.

After 2 broken collar bones, knee injury last year, and back issues preseason, I think Rodgers’ “best used by” date is approaching. Arm strength appears to be diminishing - reminding me of Peyton Manning toward the end. Pack will have to build offense to compensate for his diminishing skills to win consistently.

I am probably one of Rodger's more vocal critics, and I wouldn't even attempt to say he looks like Peyton Manning at the end of his career with a straight face.

Rodgers has plenty of arm strength left. The consistent, pin point accuracy is starting to dwindle a bit though.

Disagree. I can throw a football 50 yds and I’m 51 yrs old. 5 years ago, Rodgers could throw that ball on a line and it would get there in a hurry. This pass almost looked like a Hail Mary and MVS has to slow down and wait for the ball. In the past, Rodgers hits him in stride on that deep cross and that’s a TD. He really needs to correct his footwork this season. His arm is only %90 of what it once was and he needs all the mechanical advantages he can get. Like Brady, he needs to get the damn ball out under 3 seconds. Brady is a statue and he just ripped the Steelers like they were a high school team! Rodgers has the talent to do the same but is he willing?

I agree. Like you, I'm an old guy who can still throw. A basketball court is 30 yards long and I could throw a hard strike against the backboard at the other end when I was 50.

It's about zip. How long is the ball in the air? And I agree that age and injuries have resulted in less zip in his throws. Compare the velocity on his passes with somebody like Mahomes. Unless you're a blind homer, you'll see for yourself. Don't take my word for it.

Arm strength diminishing? Maybe you didn’t see the 50 yard throw where his body was facing left and he threw it right without his feet planted. Not many QB’s in the NFL could make that throw. Come on man!

It doesn't matter what good #12 does for this team there are some here that will continue to hate on him. Even one in particular that thinks he knows more than the coaches. They will take one or two bad throws and focus on that. All QB's make bad throws during a game. I saw Brady make some Sunday night. The difference I see is the protection that other QB's get vs #12. The majority of the time he has very little time before the pocket collapses.

I want to start off with saying I think that Rogers is still a great quarterback and has all the tools to be the best in the league but he’s not a above criticism and he does have things that he needs to fix like for example: This “everybody gets better protection than Rogers or guys aren’t open” I’m sick of hearing this crap he takes so many sacks that don’t need to be sacks because he holds the ball. This is my number one criticism and thing that I want him to fix. The reason Brady’s offensive line looks better is because he gets the damn ball out on time and if there’s no one open he checks it down to his running back or tight end. Rogers needs to play more on time and get rid of the ball and stop being so scared to throw a pick and trust that he can throw it in to some tighter windows and trust his receivers to make some plays for him. When Rogers is playing at his best is when he trusts what he is seeing and gets the ball out quick. like I said in the past that Bears game last year in the first half before he got injured he didn’t look good he was holding on the ball. Then he comes in after the injury and can’t run around so he’s forced to get the ball out on time and he looked the best he did all year and we scored I think 24 points that half that’s the way he needs to play. That’s the way he used to play every year until 2015 when Jordy got injured and from there on out he just seems to hold the ball more and not trust that his receivers will make plays for him and throw it in there to tight windows. Less running around and less holding the ball, leads to less drive killing sacks and better quarterback play for Rodgers’

Murf, I could go out right now at age 63 and throw it 40 yards just like that, and I'm no NFL QB.

Joe Namath used to throw it farther than that without even using his legs.

I look at these throws that are bouncing before they reach the receiver and say "His arm isn't as strong as it was.".

I don't think it's strength and I don't think it's he's lost his touch I think he's overthinking. It's like a pitcher trying to force a certain pitch, or trying too hard to hit a spot and ends up short hopping it to the plate.

Good: The Smiths, Alexander, Amos, Savage, Clark, Bak, T. Davis and JK Scott

Bad: Interior of the Packers OL, especially our guards.

Ugly: Too many penaties, especially on TWill.

Feedback: Posting The Good, the Bad and the Ugly was better posted than as a video.

Also, posting our comments during the game was about 1000% better than watching you and Cory watch the game and tell us what you are seeing. I couldn’t last 3 minutes with that. Yawn/snore festival.

I would recommend trying a pilot program for these features and then ask for feedback from the participants. Thanks, Since ‘61

Good

The Defense,Rodgers crazy throw, and beating the Bears in the 100th season opener in Chicago. especially gratifying after hearing how much better trubisky was than Rogers, and watching the Bears defense and Mack, along with the '85 Old-Timers get all hyped up before the game opening. Sweet. Still smiling days later.

Bad

Holding call on Clark to start. Major screw job.

Ugly

The No call on Hicks clobbering Rodger's head and the following atrocious bad OPI call to add insult to injury. And the announcers barely mentioning it. Ugh.

The Bad. Matt Lafleur's challenge.

The Ugly. The game. More penalties than there were points. Of course, an ugly win is as good as a blowout in the standings. One and oh baby!

Good: defense in general, pass D and rush in particular.

Bad: Rodgers poor game in general and footwork in particular. Footwork leaads to underthrows. He has to play much better for 33M per.

Ugly: watching Trubiskytry to play QB! 3rd yr and he's still terrible (halelluia!)

Good: There's only one direction for the offense to go. And until the offense gets in rhythm Rodgers' aversion to INTs goes well with a stingy defense.

Better: Preston Smith. I admit of the 4 free agents signed I overlooked him. After reading the practice reports, I expected Za'Darius to be special, but thought Preston would be more "steady" than dynamic. Very happy to be wrong about that.

Best: I've always loved defense. From sandlot to organized ball. My favorite player growing up was Ray Nitschke. I couldn't be more excited about the promise of this D.

Sorry about the format but the bad was obvious and the ugly happened to the bears. And that makes it beautiful.

Rodgers isn't Rodgers because he has no WR's outside of Adams. Did anyone see the kind of games some of the young newly drafted WR's had Sunday? There were at least 6 or 7 better than Allison, more moves, more speed.... I'd trade Rashan Gary for Marquis Brown right now. Our slot receiver, Allison, couldn't get open enough to have a single pass thrown his way. Rodgers holds the ball because Adams is double and triple-teamed and the others can't get open. Bench Allison and give Davis or Kumerow a shot before we give away too many games.
