The Good Jamal Williams a hot hand, Jones seemed to not have it tonight same goes for Mercedes Lewis over Jimmy Graham. The Bad Shepherd. That wasn’t a muffed punt, when you are looking a ball dropping down from the sky above like that you need to wave that arm for a fair catch. The Ugly it’s blitzing Matthew Stafford who gets the ball out fast. That over aggressiveness on defense was a real downer. To many big plays, but it all got smashed in to a W. I really hope this team can get in to that buy still in the lead, come out healthy and really start to get more of the game working for themselves. They seemed over anxious for that first half. Clearly the Packers wanted to win. It just doesn’t need to look quite that bad that often. Hell of a group effort to make it work. Not sure how Sheperd could dig out of that hole he was in. You make a mistake you need to make up for it. Jones fumbled, but he got a few good runs in later. MVS dropped a first down, but had a few good plays later. He needs to put it together soon. Lazard could be the Kumero we all need. Vitale? Where did he go?

Lowry was excellent stuffing the run tonight as well. If the Lions got that going they probably would have turned a few of their field goals in to touchdowns. Containing the run really gave the Packers a chance to stay in this game. The defense keeps doing so much. It would be great to see the offense consistently step up as well. More Lewis and more Williams!

GOOD: Jamaal Williams carried this Offense when the Offense needed carrying to keep us in the game. He had over 100 yards rushing on 14 carries with a 7.4 ypc average. He also had 4 receptions for 32 yards and a TD on just 5 targets.

BAD: David Bakhtiari had numerous penalties and gave up a bunch of pressure.

UGLY: Darrius Shepherd even though he is a lower level player. He had a huge impact on the game with the fumble and interception. Rodgers said in the post-game press conference that he asked the WR coach to put in Lazard in the 4th Quarter, but the flip side of that saying something about Lazard is that it says a lot about Shepherd.

Good: The Packers D keeping the Lions out of the endzone

Bad: The refs giving out imaginary TDs and Penalies.

Ugly: Cutting Tremon Smith and only having Shepherd available as a return man. At least he had the common sense to just fair catch once it was clear he didn't belong out there.

If they cut Shepherd loose, return specialists are a dime a dozen.

TWill can return punts. Tra Carson/Dexter Williams can return kicks.

not much is being said about the Lions touchdown that wasn't. One ref , who had the best view, signals no score. The ref coming from the other side signals touchdown. The over head video pretty much confirms the ball didn't cross the line. Wayne and Larry said LaFleur was going nuts during the commerical and had to be restrained from the refs by 2 asst coaches. I don't want to hear about bad calls ripping the Lions from a win. We have way more go against us than for us. Every year. There were some real bad ones against us just last week. They put a W in the column for us after this game, just like they did for Seattle after fail Mary. The NFL has a problem with officiating. The fans have no input as to whether they choose to address it or not.

Bad WR show;
agree with Aaron, the WR corps was a let down for all of us who defended the group in the offseason, Lazard definitely stood tall among that group. MVS, ok...but Rodgers has to consume way too much time looking for someone to get separation. Contrast to Stafford, with wide open receivers all over.
Dropped passes, geez. This could have been an easy victory if WRs showed up.

Good Marcedes;
Great to see him a part of the game plan besides a predictable blocking role. I'm all in for this guy, way underutilized. Seems he should be targeted 3+ plays per game.

Good Scott (again)

Good Jwilliams and well, AJones

Good Oline; decent protection sometimes for 5-6 seconds, and opening up running lanes against a formidable Dline.

Good; The Smith Company, Blake "missle" Martinez (sign an extension soon, please).

Bad: CB K King (hopefully you learn from your schoolin'.

Bad; preparedness; GB seems to get snookered way too often on trick plays, fake punts.

Good; TWill and J Alex; though they didn't bottle up receivers like Lions CBs did.

The good...Aaron Rodgers, Williams, Packers red-zone D, THAT wasn't a TD in the 1st quarter!! The Packers not getting screwed by the Refs for once. CROSBY!! Snapping the 4 game losing streak to Lions. Jamal Williams going down on the 2-yard line letting the clock run down.

The bad...The Packers WR not named Lazard... Mvs had ONE nice catch but if you guys want to continue to suggest THIS team doesn't need another WR to pair with Adams once healthy PLEASE, PLEASE explain that to me why and exactly who that is. Not using Mercedes Lewis MORE.

The Ugly...BOOGER... Both of Rodgers INT this season are off fluke defections. Sorry, I'm not blaming the Refs after getting screwed so MANY times.

'61 I think you mean Bahk is the one with the back injury. In an earlier comment you also called Bahk Bulaga (regarding the "hands to the face" penalties on the Lions player). I think you must have some player dyslexia today, lol (my wife has a form of dyslexia where she sometimes says the exact opposite of what she means, confusing to others hilarious to me).

1. Our team will fight for the W until the scoreboard says Q4 0.00!!!

2. A win builds confidence, regardless of the play by play.

3. Snots McFarland is often wrong with his pre-snap predictions. And much like the 2 bozos on Fox, I think he’s a Packer hater.

4. Gotta love beating the Bears, Vikings and now the Lions.....5-1 Baby!!!

I hated listening to Booger continually say the Packers are a big screen team. SMH The Packers haven't been a screen team since the Holmgren days. Have these announcers even watched a football game in the last 20 years?

The Good: Allen Lazard showed signs of developing into a major weapon and displayed grit
and aggressiveness in bowling over CB Coleman.
The Smith Bros. continue to assert themselves.
The Packers' defense made the right adjustments and stood firm in the red zone.
Aaron Rodgers continues to make the clutch throws although he underthrew
Shepherd on the interception that glanced off the latter' facemask as he slid to
the ground trying to hold up on the play.
Marcedes Lewis would appear to be a better target for Rodgers than Graham and
made two fine catches.
Mason Crosby is in a groove!
Jamaal Williams played his best game of the season.

The Bad: Deep secondary coverage was woeful in first half and the Packers continue to give
up deep throws. Kevin King seemed to be lagging on many plays - possibly due to
lingering hamstring issues.
Packers' receiving corps continues to drop balls - not to mention Jones's terrible
drop of a sure TD pass - with Graham and Allison the prime culprits.

The Ugly: Darius Shepherd. Release him with extreme prejudice.
Jimmy Graham. Slow motion TE who is just as likely to drop the ball as he is to
catch it. We should be using Lewis more often and Tonyan when he returns.
Who is that moron announcer Booger on MNF? The worst commentator I have ever heard on an NFL broadcast. Not only did he seem to be constantly singing the praises of the Lions, but his arrogant claim "that America deserves to be told" that the penalties (particularly the last one) on Trey Flowers for pushing his fist into Bahktiari's throat is overstating the case. And as Mr Nagler points out, the Packers have been victim of many bad calls and denied challenges this year. An announcer like Booger has no place in the broadcast booth.

I also was SO pissed at Shepherd last night!
But we should keep him.

Allison & Adams might be out for a bit longer.
And who knows who gets hurt next. Someone always does.

Shepherds punt fumble was rare, and we had 2 guys on that side blocking that side's gunner & the outside guy did a piss-poor job. Shepherd should have had a second to catch it. I'm so tired of our punt blocking.

His drop=int was huge. Just like Jimmy Graham has done.
But Derrius slipped, like many of OUR guys did last night for some reason. Bad cleat choice.
And that pass was a bit to the inside.

So we have to keep Shepherd because right now:

1 MVS
2 Lazard
3 Kumerow
4 Shepherd

Is #87 still available?
And where's EQ?

I dont feel bad for the Lions at all. The Packers got screwed out of a good amount of calls this game..AND MANY OTHERS. The fact that this call went in our favor is fine by me. Also it was not a bad call more so a ticky-tak call. Flowers hand drives right into Bak's face the moment the ball was snapped. It would have been a good no call but since the REFS MISSED HOLDING AND PI'S multiple times from the Lions defense..I am not mad at all! GO PACK GO!

Lambeau is a combo turf. This goes back twenty years, where the field would be wiped out by 9-10 game and be just dirt. Base is great grandson of astroturf but the field is a combo of long lived grass with grows out from turf. Players who have played on it, tell me it is very soft, and easy on the legs. Downside, is any wet weather the field takes a bit longer to drain and dry out because there is little dirt base. Not your imagination.

The Good: Packers defense after the first 2 Lion's drives and holding them out of the end zone after the turnovers. The Smiths again, Alexander and Lowry who has apparently learned how to tackle an RB. Aaron Rodgers, Jamaal Williams, Allen Lazard, Packers OL especially Linsley and Bulaga, Mercedes Lewis and Mason Crosby.

The Bad: Darius Sheppard, Aaron Jones, Redmond at safety in the first quarter.

The Ugly: 3 turnovers, 2 of which were unforced errors. Officiating as usual. More injuries.

This game was not as close as the final score indicated. After their first 2 drives the Lions really did not do much on offense. Without their turnovers the Packers would have over 500 yards of offense (without D. Adams) and at least 10 more points. The Packers had a 7+ minute in Time of Possession which would be even more significant without the Packers TOs. This would be true regardless of the "hands to the face" calls in the 4th quarter. Yes, the officials were a factor but they has become increasingly true every week for the last several seasons. The other factors were the Packers defense stuffing the Lions run game and the Packers overcoming their turnovers and numerous injuries. Thanks, Since "61

I'm here not to bury but to praise Shepherd... He's a young kid, he tried to make a play on the punt, misjudged how close the defender was and got clobbered. Happens. On the interception, did anyone notice he was more open than any receiver was all night?... the kid is fast and gets better separation than anyone on this team not named Adams. He slipped. Ball took a lucky bounce for the Lions. Happens. Allison dropped much easier throws and yet no one is asking he be cut. Except me. I'd rather see this kid in the slot than Allison on any Sunday, Thursday or Monday. Hopefully, two plays won't ruin this kid's career possibilities. I like him and I think Rodgers likes him. My current WR ranking after Adams would be MVS, Lazard, Shepherd, Kumerow. Was a fan of Kumerow but he looked slow last night. If Allison doesn't get hurt he likely would have dropped down the receiver chart anyway. Hope he gets well, and sits on the bench the rest of the year while Shepherd gets more opportunities to become the slot receiver Rodgers has been lacking.

Yeah Shepard screwed up last night but I know some loved Packer receivers from years past that screwed up when they were rookies too, give him some slack. Williams is turning into a dependable RB, Jones seemed to still be basking in the light of the Dallas game & didn't seem like he was concentrating on his execution. Receivers really need some help if Adams can't come back from injury, love this kid Alan Lazard & want to see him start in Geronimo's place next Sunday because you know he'll be in concussion protocol. The more they try to fix the officiating, the worse it gets folks, we are in a dark time when it comes to decent officiating.

...and lose the turnover battle 0-3.
...that has a very good quarterback.
...that is well coached.
...that didn't beat itself.
The great: Aaron Rodgers
The good: The referees (They were so bad they were good!)
The bad & The ugly: The turnovers and dropped passes.

Tricks and self destruction. Both teams displayed the ugly. And the Refs joined right in. The truth is the packers should have lost this game. They clearly weren't the better team. Several holding calls could have been made. And if ever there was a game that showed regression among certain players, this was it. Yes I'm going to point at Allison, Shepard, Kumerow, and Graham. Jenkins should have been called for holding, more then once. And King; what's the problem? Putting a twist on this because the packers won, would be a bigger mistake. The fix isn't about expectations. Either we have the advantage with our personal, or changes must be made. Seems the players that have talent, aren't using it every game. Fire up! What Matters is you Don't hang your yourself, or your teammates.

Packers were far and away the better team. What exactly did Detroit do on offense besides thee two big plays? Pretty much nothing. Couldn't run the ball, passing game was meh. Packer D shut them down. Packer offense was moving most of the night but a rare fumble by Jones, a fumbled punt, and a fluke interception at the one yard line gave the Lions gifts they couldn't do much with. Packers outplayed the Lions and the refs calls at the end just disguised the true nature of the game.

ARod has to throw to SOMEONE. Just because a Lazard or a GMo or an MVS happened to catch a pass or three today doesn't mean they're good.

On some of those plays, the receivers could hardly even be called "open." Yeah, credit for catching the ball when tightly covered, but ARod pretty much stuffed the football directly into their jockstraps. No receiver is going to make a living that way.

With receiver play like we've had for the past two games, we'll never do more than just survive.

Good: a win with a -3 turnover
Bad: Penalties at critical moments
Ugly: Jimmy Graham should have played his way off this team by now. Too many drops and can't even be used on special teams. No place for him to even be just a body on the field any longer.

The drop in the end-zone was the final straw for me with Graham...HOW he drops that pass is unbelievable BUT when you combine all his other drops, lazy routes, and inability to block it's becoming inexcusable. Gute, you should win executive of the year but PLEASE move on from Graham.

I read something Hooper, the TE for of Atlanta may be available though for the life of me couldn't imagine why. IF that's the case he's definitely worth a call to the Falcons to see what it would take.
