Not just good, but GREAT: our new draftees and free agents on defense. Gute found us some difference makers and has transformed this defense into a unit that can seal the deal and win games. Thumbs up also to the punt team for their execution in sloppy conditions. That penalty on Brown was bogus as he was clearly pushed into the returner by a Bronco.

Also good: The perfect Rodgers pass to Vitale.

Ugly: Agreed: the interior of the defense was manhandled at times. Was disappointed to see Lowry unable to tackle Lindsay before he crossed the goal line. Lots of missed tackles; obviously need to tighten up against the run.

Honorable mention ugly: NFL scheduling--no team should have to play two Thursday night games.

Not sure how you could say Jamal Williams was the best player on the field... sure he had a solid game, but he wasn't nor will he ever be the best player on an NFL field. That honor today goes to Preston Smith. That guy is an absolute animal, constantly making big plays. He would be in consideration for DPOY if they gave it out after three weeks, he's been that dominant thus far.

The Good: Preston Smith
The Bad: Offensive consistency
The Ugly: Dean Lowry getting over-powered by the smallest guy on the field to give up a TD with the game still in the balance

It wasn’t just Lindsay’s effort alone. Risner grabbed Lindsey by the shoulder pads and threw him into the end zone

Allowing Lindsay in was ugly. Couldn't believe it. Especially this year.

The good.....the defense. Takeaways , sacks, field position....the kicking....with the exception of a late field goal miss, the kicking game is a true strength. Good job by the Oline keeping AR upright. The Bad....I believe Rodgers is getting itchy with the system...if not for great D, we might be 1-2 or worse. The ugly? The tight ends. We got guys that have more holding calls than catches. Aside from that, the good far outweighs the bad and the ugly!! GOPACKGO!!

I'm not sure it's to the point of a bad yet. But ARs accuracy is starting to concern me. He had at least 3 bad over throws that stalled a couple drives. Not sure what is going on there. But, it's game 3 so I am hoping he's on the mark again soon.

I totally disagree, if anything Aaron’s vision and decision making is a problem but accuracy is not it. He did miss two throw high today in a very wet game. The third throw I’m assuming you’re talking about is the fade to MVS, perfect throw , MVS just didn’t time it right . If Tonyan doesn’t slow up and mvs times the fade right no one is talking about Aaron

I don't need to watch film, I saw the game. Some of his throws were just bad passes. He's still into giving receivers "the look" when he wants to make sure everyone knows it wasn't his fault, too. Like his overthrow to Gmo. Maybe the receivers he ignores on check downs should start shaking their heads and rolling their eyes when he just throws it away, instead of just moving the chains.

Two bad throws in a wet game doesnt mean hes losing his accuracy?. I said his decision making is a problem, sounds like we agree. His accuracy is fine though, all QBS miss throws, but not many can make the throws he does, and has been this year.

Good: Defense shines again to improve the unblemished record. Preston himself is humble and on point, his side of the ball is ready to perform so we "can give the offensive more opportunities"; 2) AR pulling the ponies offside and executing a 40yd TD pass to the speedster 3) Play call to Vitale (looked like the ball landed on the goal line when his knee touched 4) Pettine slowly working Gary in 5) Alexander's great strip left Font wondering what happened--he's an excellent competitor! (eg. a "dog")

Bad: not impressed with the inability to stop routine 4 to 6 yd runs (maybe Lindsey deserves a lot of the credit though) but it's a learning opportunity; (1.5) I'm curious why Pettine didn't load up the box after being ran over in the 1st qrt. 2) AR overthrows (and, i mean the ones that sailed over receivers heads)

Ugly: IMHO, there are still some odd offensive play calls that were down right stoned. Now, i have a strong hunch several fans noticed (or tried to lip read) that AR didn't look at all please with some of those calls--he had at least one face that read: ok, i ran the dumb play, told you it wasn't going to work...so, it's almost like he didn't give full effort. Trust me, i love AR and the whole manner in which he carries himself, but i saw something unique today...hope i wasn't imagining it.

Bonus comment: folks, i really appreciated AR's comment that he came out clean from the game and took only 1 rush or minor brush...he said that helps a great deal with the short week ahead. As usual, he gives out a lot of credit, especially this time to his O line

Ugly, the three bad plays where he was throwing it into the dirt....you could see Rodgers lips move...” F ing play sucks” on the sidelines you could tell that Rodgers said as much to LaFluer. They went back n forth about plays on the sideline. 2 of them looked like comeback routes where the receivers... One being Jimmy Graham...didn’t come back. We will never know because neither will admit anything on plays.

Good, defense. Yes, they were ran on in the middle. There were only so many DL to rotate. Pettine did make adjustments, he varied the formations from 2 to 3 DL pending on what the play dictated. But when ever they expected Pass and went light on the DL, Broncos immediately checked into a running play and I suspect the interior O that they have is really good. The offense didn’t help keep the D off the field....at all. The Defense created their own breaks and rest with all the turnovers which was fun to watch.

Bad... I have yet to see the creative play calling. I don’t think Rodgers is god or without blame, but some of those plays aren’t exactly set up to be successful.

The Good: 3-0

It really doesn't matter how you get there. When you are 3-0 including a win in the Windy City, it's a beautiful thing.

The Bad: Offensive Flow. Non-existent. Period. We get a quarter here. A series there. But there is nothing resembling consistency or flow.

The Ugly: The Mistakes. Period. Dropped balls (I'm looking at you MVS and G-Mo - his fumble last week notwithstanding), false starts, and poor execution offensively. It is an ongoing theme. It needs to be cleaned up in the ensuing weeks. Especially heading into Dallas who has a cakewalk of a schedule.

Good:
3-0 record
Defense with 3 turnovers
Smiths with 5 QB sacks
Interception by Savage
Punter’s kicks
Bad:
Offense unable to sustain drives
Rodgers QB inaccuracy with passes - over throwing open receivers
Ugly:
Rodgers throwing the ball repeatedly into the grass like he’s afraid to stand in the pocket and throw a receiver open downfield. It’s alarming to watch him at this point.

Several new backup QBs played great today and had their teams’ offenses scoring prolifically. Bridgewater with Saints (for Brees) , Allen with Panthers (for Newton), Jones (a rookie) with Giants (for Manning). All these QBs went on the road, scored over 30 points and won their games. Even Rudolph played his first game for Pittsburgh and almost won on the road vs 49ers.
The point is if Rodgers keeps playing so poor at QB I would have no problem seeing what Tim Boyle can do with this offense...and especially with this defense. Right now Rodgers is doing very little to sustain drives and give his defense a good rest. Nice to be 3-0 but right now it’s all on the defense in getting these wins. Rodgers needs to step up his game...if indeed he still has the skills to play QB above average...because he is slipping badly out there if you’re watching his throws at all.

Okay, I’ll play along. There is absolutely no way that you will see Boyle play in place of Rodgers. Excluding injuries and blow outs. It is not even in the realm of possibility. Undrafted free agent qbs who only make a roster due to other options being even worse aren’t given chances to see what they can do in place of starting qbs, especially those who are former mvps, still got some game, and leading an undefeated team while taking up 30 million in cap space. It is not even a consideration.

I don’t even know why I’m replying to this because it’s so ridiculous , but this entire offence is in a brand new system , those other teams have players who have been in the system for years, Rodgers could definitely be better but it’s so silly to think Boyle or any other young inexperienced QB would be better. The offence as a whole has been bad, pre snap penalties timely turnovers and just plain old busted plays, not all on Aaron at all. You sound like a spoiled brat who does not understand nor appreciate what good QB play is

the good:
P. Smith, J. Alexander, both more than good, simply great; good: the running backs. Scott.
the bad: AR accuracy, offensive coaches' inability to make adjustments after first couple of scripted drives;
the ugly: jimmy 'doa' graham, clear a space on the roster, and cut him. MVS drops; run D up the middle

The Good: Rodgers doesn't get touched, basically. He's healthy enough to practice, and if we're ever going to get the offensive flow we want, we need him on the practice field, not recovering from a 40 pass, 5 sack beating.

The Good: A defense that leads the NFL in takeaways and is #2 in scoring defense.

The Good: Scott and the punting game. Since we don't turn it over, when our opponent gets the ball it's on a long field against a good defense. That's helped our scoring defense.

The Good: Switching to Jamal Williams when Aaron Jones was stuggling. Jones' speed and explosiveness are negated by making him speed towards the sidelines. Williams won't hit many long home runs but he's good for 3 yards and a cloud of dust.

The Good: Productive day from MSV/Adams......about 150 yards and a TD.

The Bad: Our inability to get the Denver offense off the field.

The Ugly: Very little. We're not in mid-season form yet but it's not mid-season yet. We'll get better. So will our opponents. But this is Old School football. Defense, running, low-scoring tough games. I love it. Protect the ball and play defense and you'd be surprised how many games you get a chance to win.

Alright, the 2 passes AR threw into the ground in the 3rd quarter that people are whining about, they were throwaways. The 2nd one especially, would have been a pick 6. Looked like people ran the wrong routes or just weren't on the same page. Actually there were 4 he threw away on 2 series in the 3rd. He isn't going to turn it over and lose a game. He looked pissed, and from what I saw at least 3 routes were ran wrong. It's nice to record and be able to watch on demand, you freeze and watch frame by frame.

The good... The TO's...It seems we have no problem scoring after a TO but driving the length of the field consistently presents a huge challenge so far this season.

Being 3-0!!!

The bad...Adams doesn't have a TD this year. I may be a little off but have they even tried to throw the ball to him in Red-Zone?

The run D...I understand Pettine has said he'll be happy to give up rushing yards instead of the big plays in the passing game. Pettine has said multiple times "Passing gets you beat faster than anything" which is true. BUT with Dallas in 2 weeks and other teams later in the year, I hope we get it cleaned up a little.

The UGLY... The 3rd down defense THIS week. I know they were 7 of 14 late in 4th quarter. They HAVE to do better than that.

The TE position...Gute HAS to explore a trade to get a TE for this offense. If not for a TD scored ON A FREE PLAY, Grahams season is a complete and utter joke so far this season and I don't see it getting better.

Good - It's great to be 3-0!
I am thoroughly enjoying watch a Packer team that can play defense and create turnovers! They must shore up the run game and tackling.
Improvement on Special Teams from last year.

Bad - I hope I am wrong, but it looks as if Rodgers ego has begun to start reeling its ugly head. Having to carry the team because of MM not willing to change, he has been inflicted by some bad habits. His mechanics still aren't what they used to be. Playing in a game where he didn't get touched at all, he should have been more accurate. Some of it could be the receivers not being on the same page. And if he didn't like the play called, he should have called and audible, not ran the play called to prove the coach wrong. That is bush league/kids stuff. Or just complete arrogance.

Ugly - Jimmy Graham. I will give him some benefit of the doubt because of a pulled groin this past week. But the man cannot block. And it looks like he almost refuses to. And he does not have the speed anymore. I know he was Gute's first FA, but he was a mistake and Gute must cut bait. Trade him to someone who is desperate for a TE. In the mean time, sit his butt on the bench.

Ugly-

Adjustment to game plan

I am an avid Packers fan. I will always be.

In my opinion, the Packers are one Smith injury away from a losing season. Those guys have been outstanding, but they cannot do it all. I understand that a new scheme was employed this year. They are not giving themselves a chance to install it. Basic things like getting a play, getting lined up and running the play seem difficult to accomplish. Green Bay has a grand total of 13 points in three games after half time. That is 6 quarters of football. In no way, shape or form is this sustainable. The run game is not effective on the regular, and I fail to see any attempt at outside zone. I understand that there is a first time coach running the show. After three games, it is apparent that the only good decision LaFleur has made thus far is keeping Mike Pettine. LaFleur needs to show us why he got the job. I still have faith in him, but for how long?

The Good

Winning at home and putting up 27 points on a very good D with a chance to go 4-0.

The Bad

Tackling on the D and STs. They never practice real tackling. They only time it is live tackling is during games. Hopefully it gets better as they get more live “reps” during games.

The Ugly

The virtually unseen TE receptions except when Graham’s name is called for ANOTHER holding call. I have been a fan, but I fear Jimmy is about done. I would not be surprised if Gutey tried to trade him over the next few weeks.

The Good is always winning. 3-0 !!// The secondary is so good! The Smiths are so Good! The bad:- Arron Rodgers not helping his Offensive Line. The OL started to tire. The Bronco's were bringing it. While Arron did over throw a couple of open Players. He still hung onto the ball to long. Quick slants, Timed plays, screens, even bootlegs, would have been helpful to them. And where are the TEs? The series were to predictable. Also - Adams missing on DL. The ugly: The skirmish between Lefluer and Rodgers. Dodging each other, won't help solve their differences. Identify the problem, and fix it.

The ugly?... how many receivers in the NFL have more catches than Geronimo Allison. Answer... all of them. Ok, I exaggerate, but ever so slightly. Matt has to show the fortitude to bench a player doing nothing. He's the only rookie coach to go 3-0 since Lombardi, so he needs to be like Lombardi and not tolerate lack of production. Lombardi didn't like the starting QB when he came in and gave the job to a 17th round draft pick. Shepherd wasn't drafted but there are only 7 rounds these days. I'm sure he'd have been at least a 17th rounder. Free Shepherd!... or Kumerow, either one is fine.
