Ted Thompson inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame

Former Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson was inducted into the Packers Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

Long time followers and readers of mine know how I feel about the man. Yes, he had his faults, but he was the absolute man as Packers GM. I'm thrilled to see him honored by the team.

Over the years, I had the opportunity to ask Ted questions in various media settings, but this will always be my favorite exchange.

Congrats, Ted. You did it all your way, regardless of the outside critics and you did it all with incredible intergrity. You will always be the epitome of what it means to be a Green Bay Packer.

Congrats, Mr. Thompson. I know fans gave him a lot of grief towards the end of his tenure, but he will always be remembered and appreciated for weathering the transition from Favre to Rodgers, keeping the franchise relevant and competitive and bringing home another Lombardi in 2010.

Congratulations Ted. You drafted Rodgers and Mathews, picked up Woodson, made good moves early in your term and brought us a Super Bowl. You deserve to be in the Packers Hall of fame for this.

However, I wish you had a different philosophy regarding FA, especially after you would miss in the draft. I really believe you could have brought at least 2 more trophies had you been a little more Aggressive. I also hope your health is ok. I was worried about you the last 3-4 years. You played pro football when there weren't many rules. This may have effected your performance towards the end of your GM post? I hope not. I hope your mental health is good

Wish he had not stayed in the position he was the last few years but regardless....Congrats!

Hard seeing anyone struggle like he obviously was at his induction ceremony presentation and wish him well.

Great Packer! Rogers move was legendary! Then again we had a knack for getting Qbs that no one saw great potential in. Sad to see him struggle ,it seems, mentally at only 66. I wonder if it was caused by his ten years in the NFL.

Thanks Teddy for drafting RODGERS & COLLINS with your first 2 picks! 2 Hall of Fame talents.

Thanks also for fleecing NE in 2006 to get Greg Jennings & in 2009 to get Clay Matthews.
Those were all Playmakers & it led to 2010 & 2011.

2014 was a Super Bowl team too, they just choked it away thanks to Bostick & the Stop Sign.

And there were about 9 other specific plays, that had they been made by the Pack, they would gone to the SB.

The most asinine play I have ever witnessed as a Packer Fan since my first game at Lambeau in 1960.

My sentiments exactly. I think it was a bad call by Rodgers. He owes his career to Ted Thompson, and it was very disrespectful of him to miss his HOF dinner so he could party at the Derby.

Owes his career? Ted drafted him he didn’t give him his talent.

TT and #12 will be forever linked.

And how do I get 1/2 point. Does this mean someone couldn't make up their mind? :-)

The man gave his heart and soul to the team. I am thankful to him for all he did for the Packers. He is a very humble man and deserves this honor.

A Packer or NFL Hall of Fame member needs to be judged on their entire body of work, not just their last few years on the job.

Ted richly deserves this honor. They didn't lose those NFC Championship games because of Ted.
