Stock the BoxTM for Hunger campaign collects food for Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin with support of local high school bands and Packers

Associated Bank collection kicks off on November 5 at Lambeau

GREEN BAY, Wis. – October 31, 2016 – In partnership with Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, the Green Bay Area Public School District and the Green Bay Packers, Associated Bank will host a community-wide Stock the BoxTM for Hunger food collection on November 5 from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. in the Lambeau Field parking lot at the corner of Lombardi Ave. and Ridge Rd.

To help with the collection, Green Bay East, West, Preble and Southwest high school bands will be hosting a drive at their respective schools prior to November 5 and showcasing their collection on Saturday. Community members are further encouraged to bring nonperishable, non-glass food items and add to their favorite school’s food collection pile. A pep-rally will be held from noon – 1:15 p.m. and each band will perform game-day favorites. At 1:30 p.m., leaders from each organization will determine and announce the school with the largest food collection pile.

The school with the largest food collection pile will receive a $2,000 grant to their music program. Runners up will receive a $1,000 grant.

November 5 schedule:

·         9 a.m.: community members are invited to begin dropping off food in support of their favorite school

·         Noon – 1:15 p.m.: high school bands perform

·         1:30 p.m.: awards program with leaders from each organization; recognize the school with the largest food collection pile

·         2 p.m. food collection closes and the donation is made to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin

“The Green Bay Area Public School District is proud to support Associated Bank’s food collection that will assist those in the community who need it most,” said Dr. Michelle Langenfeld, Superintendent of Schools and Learning. “The schools have been working hard and invite the community to join in their efforts by bringing a donation to Lambeau and listening to them perform at the pep rally."

This event serves as the kick off for Associated Bank’s 2016 Stock the BoxTM for Hunger campaign that will take place in branches and corporate offices in Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota through the end of the year. Donations will be paired to Feeding America member food banks across our footprint.

“Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin and Associated Bank have a strong relationship and we are proud to work with them once again for their first ever Stock the BoxTM for Hunger campaign,” said Patti Habeck, executive vice president, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin. “The food collected on November 5, and at banks throughout the campaign, will enable us to provide healthy, nutritious food to our member organizations throughout the critical holiday season and well into the new year.”

Only nonperishable, non-glass food items will be accepted. Event held rain or shine.
