Ross' Packers Draftapalooza

Draft Day is here.  For the first time since I've been alive the Packers have two first round picks heading into the draft.  They picked twice in round one in 1993 and 2009, but both of those situations arose from draft day trades.  Not only that, but the Packers have ten total selections in this draft.  One grading system rates their draft capital as the 3rd highest in the entire draft.

These are rare times in the Aaron Rodgers era.  This isn't your daddy's draft where Green Bay selects 26th in every round and Trader Ted moves up and down a little bit, takes a Pro Bowl WR in round two or three and an All Pro OL in round four or five after probably missing on the first round pick.  This two picks in the top 30, three in the top 45 and six in the top 120. This draft could very well define the Brian Gutekunst/Aaron Rodgers/Matt LaFleur marriage.

So in preparation for tonight, after you've purchased the CHTV drraft guide (seriously what are you doing go buy the draft guide how have you not purchased the draft guide go purchase the draft guide), bookmark this page.  This is the place to find every piece of draft content that I have provided during this offseason.

It's pretty extensive so let's get started:

NFL Combine Interviews

Miami DE Joe Jackson on Adversity

Kansas State OT Dalton Risner on his meeting with the Packers

TJ Hockenson on being mocked in the top 10

North Dakota State QB Easton Stick on NDSU's Pro Style prepping him for the NFL

TJ Hockenson on whether he prefers finishing blocks in the dirt or making a big catch

Past philosophy seemed to value more bites of the apple over fewer but quality picks. Count me as all in on quality over quantity. You can only signs 53 of these guys, and I think they need to start leaning into it. I'd be psyched if they traded up to net Oliver, Hock, Risner, and Thornhill. They could make that happen, albeit at a cost of perhaps camp competition. 10 picks are meaningless if only 5 or 6 likely make the squad. Agree, ton of work to put this out, thanks for the effort Ross.

Did my last daily draft on Fanspeak this morning and for the first time Devin White fell all the way to 12. Hope it's a sign...

I’m going to say there’s not a single person in America who is going to call the top 12 picks correctly.

I can't argue that! I think there's little chance White falls, but stranger things have happened.

By all accounts, more teams than usual ahead of the Packers are itching to trade back and build draft capital later in round 1 and in day 2. If anything, it's going to devalue early picks and make it hard to get what the charts project as fair value for #12. That could mean that the Packers could get more for 12 and 30 than they were expecting. It also means that just about anything could happen in that first 90 minutes of the draft.

I want the Pack to assemble a D as good as Minny or Chicago. I'd like us to do some ass-kicking for a change. Can't stand watching other teams march down the field on us all the time. Sick of it.

With that in mind, I'm hoping they can land D White or Oliver at twelve. I don't want them to trade-up unless they are assured of getting either Bosa, Q Williams or Allen. If Oliver and White are gone @12 then consider Burns, Bush, Ferrell or Sweat.

If they're convinced the price is too high for the above, then take the best offensive tackle or Hockenson AFTER trading back.

They seem to be assembling pieces on D. Now finish it off tonight.

As a young packer fan growing up in IL it was great to have the packers double up in the first round.

The draft excitement was not as wide spread but thanks to what there was and RAY N packer report it created a life long and fun relationship with GB relatives and the packers

Ezra and Mike.....lots of fun examples and never the disaster that seemed to come from single high picks like Campbell or Tony or McCoy

My draftpalooza is pfizzling out. I just want this draft done so I can gear up for the next wave which will be learning EVERYTHING possible (and then some) about the new Packers!
One thing is for certain, the CHTV contributors will have new material which should get us to Training Camp.
