On a conference call this afternoon to promote his appearance at the 22nd Annual American Century Championship golf tournament, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was asked about reports that the lockout was nearing an end. Rodgers replied:

I think everyone has a sense its going to end soon, it’s just how soon is soon?

Rodgers is the Packers' player representative, which means he was on the call with DeMaurice Smith last week where Smith told player reps "don't believe the hype" regarding media reports that the league and the former players union were getting close to an agreement.

Yet here is Rodgers agreeing that the sense is the lockout will end "soon."

I'm not donning a tinfoil cheesehead or anything. I just found the response interesting.
