Linebacker Jamari Lattimore is making a free-agent visit to the New York Jets on Wednesday, according to Mike Garafolo of Fox Sports:

Lattimore is an unrestricted free agent after playing for the Packers from 2011 to 2014.

Despite the lack of depth at the inside linebacker position in Green Bay, it doesn't appear as if Lattimore is a priority for the Packers.

Over the course of his career, Lattimore has started nine of 49 games, making 85 tackles, two tackles, one interception and one forced fumble in four years. His biggest role was on special teams.

Lattimore was a spot starter the past two seasons after making the transition from outside linebacker, but he was never a preferred starter and could never hold onto the job.

After suffering an ankle injury, Lattimore had his season on injured reserve in 2014. Entering the season, Lattimore signed a restricted free agent tender worth $1.4 million for one year.

It will be interesting to see whether Lattimore can command a deal in the same range he received last year, but as someone that's never been a full-time starter, Lattimore figures to be hard pressed to get an average of $1.4 million per year with his next contract.

If Lattimore leaves, than Sam Barrington and Nate Palmer will be the only two ILB with game day experience

Matthews can play inside, at least on a part-time basis.

Bradford was inactive for all 18 games last season (including playoffs). So while the Packers have an educated guess as to whether he can contribute, he does not have any game experience.

We will be very young at that spot, the Packers are always building.

I think the packers are actually okay with the roster at ILB. Partly because it's just a low priority position in this defense. Partly because they pull a ILB off the field on a huge % of snaps. Partly because Barrington and Mathews are capable starters. Sure, they would love to add an athletic thumper in the draft and keep Clay outside full time but the group think by fans that ILB is a big need is mostly wrong. TT just isn't going reach for a ILB in the draft or over-pay for a FA ILB. My guess is he does nothing at the position until after the draft. If they don't add a starting quality ILB in the draft he'll sign someone at a minimum deal for depth and special teams.
