Report: Al Harris Out For the Year

Torn ACL.

I expect to see teams go to a lot of 3 and 4 wide receiver sets to get Bush and Underwood on the field.

Tramon Williams better step up his game, and we better see Nick Collins covering their players, instead of Bush and Underwood... But yeah, fuck...

And now Capers will be much less inclined to blitz...and we know how well that goes. Shit!

Bush has looked surprisingly solid of late. Maybe Capers can make a player out of him. I think the zone system is more to his strengths.
I look for plenty of Big Okie.
Wonder if they could put Collins at some CB.

Nerdmann: solid compared to what he was playing, right? I mean, the guy does nothing at ST, and keeps letting people catch passes.

Other teams would be foolish not to spread us out now. CB/S was the ONE place (other than LT, and we all know how well that went) that we COULD NOT get injured. Bush and Underwood are not NFL corners. Period.

Season. Done. Again.

IF the Packers had an osteopath/chiropractor on staff who is trained to identify misaligned joints and knows how to correct them...these injuries would have never happened. Some injuries are preventable some are not. We lost two good players to PREVENTABLE injuries. Surgeons do not know how to adjust misaligned joints. Osteopaths and chiropractors do. A misaligned joint is weak and prone to injury. An aligned joint is very strong and durable. These two injuries are a failure of the medical staff and a failure by the board of directors, Mark Murphy, and Ted Thompson. The staffing of the medical group is incomplete, the result is unnecessary injuries. Really stupid, incompetent, inept management...and yes, I do have the background to call these fools out!!

Too bad the season is pretty much over with Harris and Kampman out. Kampman is somewhat more expendable with the 3-4 defense, but still...Kampman! The Harris loss is devastating. I can't imagine Bush or Underwood performing as well. Yikes. This will be a test for the coaching staff, and maybe even Thompson. If the Packers go 6-10, they could get a decent first round pick?

A word on the Vikings though, as Favre had another good performance today. At 9-1, their victories have all come against teams with less than a .500 record, with the exception of the Packers. Including Green Bay, their opponents win-loss percentage is a paltry 36% (36-63). They have, and will continue to have, a cupcake schedule this season. Look at their road games this year: Cleveland, Detroit, St. Louis, Pittsburg (they lost to them, and Pitty is nowhere near as good as they were last year), Green Bay, Arizona, Sunday night game Carolina, and Monday night game at Chicago (here's hoping to a snow storm as a Christmas present). OOOOhh -- scary! I'm interested to see how the Vikings play against Arizona in two weeks; hopefully Warner will play or Lienart can step up. I just can't see the Vikings go past the Saints or even the Giants if New York is in the playoffs. Sorry Favre, you and the Viqueens are going down because you're going to get f'in smash mouthed in the post season -- can't wait!

so. full. of. shit.

Pretty sure Cortland Finnegan is a Pro Bowl corner playing for the Titans, nice list.

Wow, way to go out on a limb there about the 3 and 4 wides, sure that didn't cross anyone's mind.

Where is Pat Lee? Where is Will Blackmon?

I too am crushed by the loss of Harris and Kampman but I'm hardly ready to throw in the towel on the season. And 6-10? Are you kidding, Lombardi's Ghost? We have the Lions up next, the Ravens (who are in trouble now) 11 days after that, and the Bears after that. Those are three winnable games whether Harris is out there or not. If we can go 2-1 in those 3 and go to Pittsburgh 8-5 we'll be in good shape.

This scares me. I don't want to say this, but this could seriously hurt our playoff chances, perhaps even beyond repair. The Packers defense has really started to clamp down on the run, which will give teams even more encouragement to throw deep into our nonexistent secondary. Mr. Underwood, if you step up and fill this spot, you are my choice for MVP. Charles, save us!

Of course we could try to pick up a free agent to fill the spot. Oops, I didn't mean it Mr. Thompson; it was only a joke. Jut keep playing our young inexperienced players and get all set for that draft next year.

The Harris loss has a multiplier effect. They will use Woodson more judiciously and keep him off the line a lot more. They will be playing a much more conservative defense. The front 3 and LB's will really have to step up.
_____
Jones did a good job again today. His presence will minimize the loss of Kampman. His replacement could have been Poppinga. It looks like TT has done a good job with the 3 rookies, now starters, in the 2009 draft. I will miss Kampman, a great team player and a loyal Packer forever. Salute' Aaron, you are a class act.

Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but we could have kept Pat Lee on the roster. He was only supposed to miss 8 weeks. 2 fullbacks is too many, and 3 has crippled this team's depth. http://www.greenbaypressgazette.com/article/20091111/PKR01/91111169/1058

A fortunate but very costly win. It will be interesting to see if anyone can step up and fill the gaps. Other teams will test and exploit it if an answer is not forthcoming.

Hey, Bad Knees, I'm in school for acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Got any books or references on what you're talking about vis a vis joints? Thanks.

I think this defense is going to be OK. They'll bring up Trevor Ford and Cyril Obiozor from the PS. Business as usual. Bush has been playing decently (by which I mean penalty free.) Underwood's got a world of talent, but he's raw. A little experience will do him some good. Maybe he'll even overtake Bush as the nickel guy.
These young CBs are going to rally around each other, behind Capers and Woodson. MARK IT DOWN!

With all that cap space TT should look into cloning! Get Woodson in the lab asap and boom problem solved. Unexplored territory..... Do it Ted! Otherwise we're in trouble

jersey - do i think he'll wait around to fill the roster spot, no - do i think we'll cut him before giving him a patient chance to regain at least a backup role - definitely not. harris is not the kind of guy to go quietly into the night. i know a knee is different than a spleen (i knowed it cause i had some book lernin'), but last year should be proof enough - to fans and coaches alike - that harris deserves a shot to come back no matter how serious things are.

Harris should not come back unless the doctors clear him. I know he's one of the toughest players, but he's still a human being. He needs time to heal. Would you rather have Harris out for the season or Harris out for life?
