Registration Now Open for Throwback Weekend III

October 19 and 20, 2013. Save the date.

Cheesehead TV is proud to sponsor the third incarnation of Throwback Weekend for this year's Packers-Browns game in Titletown when the Packers will wear their throwback uniforms.

Registration is now open at the event's official website at

So what is Throwback Weekend?

It's a social gathering of Packers fans from nationwide, even worldwide. It's an opportunity for those connected by the comment sections of and, for those that interact on Twitter and Facebook to come together and enjoy the camaraderie of cheering for the team they love.

But you don't have to be a social media maven to come to Throwback Weekend. The only thing that's required is that you're a card-carrying member of Packers Nation.

This year's activities include a "tweet-up" party on Saturday evening at the Green Bay Distillery, complete with drink tickets. Then on Sunday, there will be a pre-game tailgate party in the shadows of Lambeau Field with all the food and fixins' you need.

You'll also get a t-shirt and can koozie as a momento.

I can't recommend this event enough, folks. Ask anyone that's been there before, and they'll tell you it's a can't-miss date on their calendar every season.

But please, come see for yourself. I guarantee you'll have a great time.

Is Cow42 going to come and man the dunking booth? He could raise a lot of money for charity.

I was already thinking of trying to attend the game that weekend. Do a lot of the participants also go to the game or just tailgate? If so is there a certain section people sit in?

Mike, some people go to the game, some watch it at at the local establishments around the stadium. There's certainly no certain section people sit in. Everyone is on their own for obtaining tickets. But this might help you out. Some of the people coming to Throwback Weekend put together a Google docs document listing who's going to the game, who's not, etc.:

Does my $50 for registration get me beer at the tailgate Sunday? If so, how much?

Brian Carriveau's picture

Yes, you get an unlimited amount of beer, or as long as it lasts. As long as you're not the kind that's coming to drink an entire case by yourself.

Ha. No worries. Those days are looooong over. Thanks.
