Railbird Central Podcast: Packers-Giants Primer

Railbird Central preview's Sunday's showdown as the Packers try to stay afloat in the NFC playoff picture without Aaron Rodgers.

Episode 332

On today's episode of Railbird Central, we preview Sunday's showdown between the Packers and the Giants, going through the keys to the game. One key will be how a banged-up Packers offensive line does protecting first-time starting quarterback Scott Tolzien. And another will be the Packers providing their own pass rush from Clay Matthews and company, helping the secondary to force some turnovers against Giants quarterback Eli Manning.

I have a really bad feeling about this game. Specifically, that we get zero pass rush and our safeties spend the afternoon chasing Victor Cruz and Andre Brown into the end zone. Both have an extra gear,

This is a better Giants team than what we saw at the beginning of the year.

Then you should be encouraged that the Packers should get more pass rush than they have in weeks with Clay Matthews minus his club cast facing a below average Giants offensive line that's dealing with injuries.

whenever we play against a seemingly weakened OL with injury issues, it never seems to end well. if we play against a full strength OL and everybody thinks they'll dominate the Packers DL, then suddenly the DL takes over. At least that is my perception.
I agree, I really have a bad feeling about this one. I think Tolzien will be picked off 3 or 4 times, and our DBs won't be able to cover the Giants WRs.

"Cant believe MM-TT put us in this position!"

You mean putting us in a position to win a super bowl and have our backup qb Tolzein be a future star and a folk hero along the way? I can't either. I think this game will be Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy's finest hour damnit!!

All you ninny nancy's like Point Packer, take your Teddy Bear and curl up in a corner. For the rest of you people, we've got a fucking game to win!! Let's get it done!!

Prediction, MM made the decision on the QB on emotion this week. It will be very clear early this game that was the wrong decision and Flynn will finish the game
