What, we already have a coach who can’t walk. We haven’t signed a high priced vet in months. We didn’t get the draft picks we all knew were bound for Canton and most of the rookies haven’t been in the starting line up for OTAs. How can we relax?

Nothing matters until the game in Chicago starts. If we can win that, it's a really auspicious beginning. If we lose, we're 0-1 and still undefeated at home.

I’m not planning my Super Bowl trip yet but they’ve definitely closed the gap between teams like the Rams, Saints, and Bears. This is the most balanced team they’ve had on sometime. All glaring weaknesses have been addressed. If they stay healthy, and that’s a huge if with our injury track record they are capable of beating any of those teams. I actually like their chance of winning the opener even more than the Bears game at home later in the season. Nobody knows exactly what LaFleur’s game plan will be.

Yup, all the hoopla and not one down is played. In the last two years we have a new GM, a new coach, four good free agents and a host of draft picks. And we still have a all-pro QB. Nothing is proven without winning. But I am looking forward to the start of the season.

This immediate off season was the time to lick wounds, scour the 'net for any scintilla of Packers (real) news, and spend time bemoaning or celebrating the new Packers staff, FA's and other additions from the draft and UFA's. It is now the time to start getting excited, to look at the positives and hope for the best. There will be plenty of time to criticize, second guess and complain once the real games begin. For right now, I'm all sunshine and butterflies. If the team starts the real season slowly and looks out of synch, then it'll be time for thunder and lightning.

Before the draft our GM finally gave the Packers something the Packers have been searching for since 2010... The chance of having two OLB on the field at the SAME time who can both rush the QB and defend the run and hold an edge. Not stopping there he addressed the O-Line with something OTHER than an UDFA or PS holdover. But lets not forget that Safety he stole from the Bears. Now that dude is a SS.

For the 2nd time in as many years we have a GM who had an excellent draft. Not only did he address several needs on the team, he continued to add something to the team sorely lacked under the old GM... Speed and athleticism.

The Safety position, a position that has HAUNTED the Packers since Nick Collins neck injury in week 2 against Carolina has FINALLY been addressed. Obviously we still have to wait and see, but you have to admit this new tandem seems a load better than say McMillan and Jennings of 2012 or HHCD and fill in the blank of 2014.

I don't give a damn if it's only OTA's or not. I can't remember a defense with more depth and more promise than the 2019 defense of the GBP.

Oh, and that Rodgers guy seems pretty happy AND healthy. He also seems to have that King Kong sized chip back on his shoulder and for good reason. OTA's, Training Camp, Preseason, and right on up to week one, this team IS a contender again... Thanks Gute!

I think the Packers are a more talented team this year than they were last year, the biggest concerns are injuries and how long it takes players to become proficient in the new schemes.

We’ll know more once the pads come on and when we see them in some games.

Yes David, what you written is all true. Expect the learning curb is steeper and sharper because of the lack of time to teach, and put in their system in both the OTA and training camp. That is strictly on the owners for putting what amounts to a beta product when the regular season starts. (Bill Gates chuckles evilly somewhere in Seattle) We fans will not 'see' real NFL football until 4-6 games into the regular reason, when teams roster and systems are in place and adjustments are made. What we see is late preseason football with a much higher injury risk for players as they adjust to the speed and violence that is pro football today. In truth, we fans do not see high level play until after the first half of the season is done. Cheapens the game from my point of view, and creates far more problems then what it's worth over the season. Think it is a accident that the league keeps trying to tinker with the game rules mid season.
As we all know, fixing this will require both the owners and players to sit down, and have a serious heart to heart talk about the future of the game. At this point the NFL is playing like a real life video game, and the shelf life of most games these days a year. (if the developer is lucky) At this rate, the only question for the NFL is not if, but when the league crashes and burns. And all because the owners were too stubborn and the players too stupid to sit down with to fix what everyone knows is crippling the game.

This article is nothing more than the Author projecting his interpretation of what other people are thinking. I mean the “electrifying” offense stuff comes out of some of the comments coming directly from some of the players. Heck what do you expect players to say. “Well, we might be ok”.... New Head Coach new optimism. Also, there are still as many Gary doubters as there are supporters.

What has been “relaxing” for me is Gutey signing Turner, Madison returning, drafting Jenkins, and signing UDFA Nijman who is huge and athletic with tremendous upside.

Plug the holes on the O line and the Offense has potential to be very dominating...yes, even electric.
