Peppers is in his prime, so to speak (28). But, he's due a LOT of (%17mil). I seriously doubt whether or not Trader Ted would dish out THAT much payola, even if Julius Peppers is considered a phenom of sorts. Just the same, I do hope Thompson takes a hard look at the guy. Course, Peppers may not want to be in Green Bay. Then again, it might depend on who are DC ends up being. Let's see where this goes!

The right defensive end position was a "hang nail" all season. Montgomery spent most of his time get trap blocked on outside runs and stumbling over himself on pass rushes. Thompson had a good game and then was injured on and off for the rest of the year. Then that great rush end Brady Poppinga came to town. We all know how well that worked.
Get off your ass TT and get going. I heard on the Score in Chisago that the Bears are going to FA market and get a defensive end. If they get him that should be grounds for dismissal of TT.
Peppers would fill a big hole in the Packer defense. With Peppers there Jolly would become a better player. They'd have to worry about the end instead of using a TE or Back to block down on that position and double up Jolly.
To repeat, get off your ass TT.

He's not due $17 million, only if he's franchised.
I wouldn't pay him that much...look at his '07 numbers.
Grounds for dismissal because he signs with another team? That's the definition of "knee-jerk".

Somebody in the Packer front office better have Peppers and his agent on speed dial from here on out.

If the Packers did want Peppers to sign with them, you know they'd spin him the "next Reggie White" angle, absolutely. It also would mean that they have committed to running a 3-4, since that's what Peppers wants to play in.

How are you not gonna mention he wants to play in a 3-4? That's a pretty big part of the whole thing. I doubt we switch our base defense for 1 guy, which with the packers luck, will get hurt in camp and it wouldn't matter anyway.
If we do a 3-4 it should be for any reason EXCEPT because of this.
