Good job, Maggie and Perri!

Agree this secondary got a lot stronger after adding Eric Stokes and Shemar Jean-Charles. Personally, I love the skill they brought into that DB room with both players.

Christian Uphoff and Ray Wilborn both look to me like the Swiss Army knives of the Defense. They both can switch from S to ILB in the time it takes to snap the ball. Both have length with solid coverage skills, along with proven tackling ability. Both should be great on STs as well. Uphoff & Wilborn carry with them Jeremy Chinn-like qualities, which are highly sought after. Nice finds by Gutekunst there.

Thinking Uphoff and Wilborn could surprise many people. The additions last year of Khrys Barnes and Kamal Martin were very welcome at ILB. but their injuries showed us how short we are on talent there. Maybe having these larger Safeties like Uphoff and Wilborn are a good fit to help round out the postion a little better in hybrid roles.

Let's face it. Our DL sucked last year outside of Kenny Clark. Our coverage in the middle sucked when Martin went down. More beef up front with some bigger, longer hybrids who are good in coverage could go a long way towards improving our D.

I do think an intriguing player for the star role may be Kevin King. There is a lot of bias against King, but, I do believe he is a better player than what we saw in last year’s NFCC game. I also recall King talking about wanting to play over the slot last season. He would be interesting there. Makes me think of the impact Cam Chancellor made on SEA’s secondary back in the day. King, in a new role, might be special there if he brings it full-on. He does have speed. He can tackle in the open field. He'd make a giant figure in the middle to challenge QBs and to ball hawk.

A real outlier for that star position might be "Sherm" (Jean-Charles). That dude is a player.

Count me a huge TJ Slaton fan. He’s got a lot of potential, and I do love thinking about him playing next to KC. That could prove formidable.

If this AR trade goes through with DEN, our LB and DL personnel improves drastically. There is a ton of talent we may see coming our way from a group including SLB Bradley Chubb, NT Mike Purcell, DE Shelby Harris and ILB Baron Browning. Should we somehow add 2 or 3 of those players, WOW!
