Since Gute took over. I question your "Draft" and development statement. He 's made 28 selections =- 4 starters- Alexander,Gary ,Savage, and Jenkins. The Picks lost to get players to develop. Love - 1 and 4.// to develop Savage A 1 And 2- 4s and a 6th / Burks was a 3 and 4. Etc. And how many picks made No impact. Simply put. Gute wins with Vets. Not draft picks. Not BPA! And now; because of the Cap. We will lose TTs "Draft and Development" successes. Jones, Linsley, and King. 3 stars, that change the strength of the roster. Not to mention prior loses in Daniels and Bulaga. Yes: he got Turner the Smiths and Amos. But this team is far from TTs Draft and Development. The harsh reality is Gute is failing as a GM. His success hasn't been the draft. It's been a poor division.

I disagree with your take on Gutey.

First if it isn't draft and develop what would you say about players like MVS, Gary, Savage, Keke. They have been developed.

His 1st draft he picked Jaire Alexander - Stud.
His 2nd draft he picked Elgton Jenkins - Stud.

In his first draft he had 11 picks. Of those 11 picks 7 are still with the team. Out of those 7 4 would be starters. (yes I'm including Scott and Bradley as a part of those).
The 2 mystery players are Jackson and Burks. Jackson kind or reminds me of Casey Hayward. both had good rookie years and then really fell out of favor in GB. But when Hayward left and got put into the right system, he flourished. Will Jackson do the same?

In his 2nd draft he had 8 picks. All 8 are still with the team, and of those 8 picks 3 are starters. Gary and Savage really started to turn it on this year too. They have some players that have filled roles as well. Summers and Hollman have been good special teams players. Keke really was playing well this year and was our 2nd best interior pass rusher on the team.

In his 3rd draft (way to early to judge). He drafted the QB of the future. Whether it plays out that way or not, who knows. If he ends up being the next Rodgers, Gutey is instantly a genius. He drafted his future RB, and Dillon showed some very good things in his rookie year. Unfortunately Deguara got hurt early but he did flash early, which gives us hope for the future. Kamal Martin flashed in camp, got hurt and came back late in the year and did some good things. Runyan played well when he was forced to play. He could be a starter next year. Hanson and Stepaniak could also be in the running for starting jobs. I thought Scott played really well when he played. I personally wished he would have been ahead of Redmond. Garvin showed a little bit early in the year.
This draft class doesn't include Barnes, which it should.

So to sum it up. In 3 drafts he has picked 28 players. Of those 28 players drafted, 24 are still on the roster. There are 7 starters. With potentially new starters next year. Dillon, Martin, Runyan, Stepaniak from this last draft class. Perhaps a few others from previous classes as well. Jackson, Keke.

Gutey has done a really good job overall. He has put together 2 NFC championship games worthy rosters. Was he perfect. No. There is and will have holes to fill. Every team has that. There is not a team in the league that doesn't have that.

But to say that Gutey is failing as a GM, is purely wrong.

I pointed to Starters. Sure Gary developed. But wasn't the DL the problem after Daniels left?. Isn't the argument about the "draft" and development? DON'T confuse "DRAFT" development with Veteran FA HELP! And that is what your doing. If their not a starter, they aren't fully developed. They are REPLACEABLE. FELL out of "FAVOR" is not a valid argument. You have seen "Splashes", Flashes, and by DEFAULT. That does not translate into Roster REPLACEMENT STRENGTH! Too many good players have been let go because of DRAFT STATUS. So Kelsey, Jones, Williams, and King are being forced out. (For ASSUMPTIONS.) And thats just what this roster has become. Take away the Rodgers Factor. Insert a weak division. "Potential" only works if a player has upside. When you add up the exchange rate on lost draft capitol. The bad " TRADE". That crystal ball doesn't do Gute any favors.

Just a footnote on the "Trade". Randall #114th &#150 for Kizer #101 used on Burks and #138 on Madison.

All the players I listed are from the players Gutey has drafted. I have not talked about any of the FA's. Not sure where you are getting that from.

I really don't get what you are talking about. Your original post you talked about Gutey failing as a GM. How he hasn't drafted and developed and is only winning with FA players. So you are saying that he can't draft and only can sign FA's? Is that your argument?

I brought up all the players that he has drafted and how many starters and future starters they may have. And not just starters, true play making players. Alexander, Jenkins are 2 of the best drafted players in the last 3 drafts.
MVS has been one of the biggest playmakers in the league. I believe this year he led all WR's with deep plays. Gary down the stretch had one of the best pass rush rates in the league. Savage's light bulb went off in the 2nd half of this year.

What players have been let go because of a players draft status?

What drafts picks were traded away? Outside of them trading up and giving away a 4th for Love. How about him trading back and securing a first round pick the next year for Savage. He essentially traded back 4 spots in his first pick and got another 1st round pick.

As far as Kelsey (who ever that is), Jones, Williams and King being forced out. Jones was offered a contract. He turned it down as of now. They will only keep 1 if that between him and Williams. Do you really want to resign King after the way he played this year? And there is something called the salary cap. You can't keep everyone.

I have no clue what you are saying with (The bad " TRADE". That crystal ball doesn't do Gute any favors.) What are you referring to?

So you are saying that he can't draft and only can sign FA's? = Yes - I'm saying he can't draft correctly! And "has" to "sign" FAS! So let me start. 1. Was Randall a good trade and then draft Alexander? 2. He Replaced Nick Perry. But not Clay Mathews or Martinez. 3. That Jordy Nelson was never replaced, but Adams took over the #1 spot. But what about COBB? Punt Returner? 4. Was Graham better then drafting a TE? 5. IS KeKe better then Daniels? OR Lowrey? 6. That Love wouldn't have been picked if Kizer worked out. 7. That the cost to move up in the draft was a bad choice when it came to Savage and Burks. 8. And this is what he must be judged on when drafting. OTHER NEEDS! At the time of the selections. Etc. 9. I realize he wants money to get better players. But when Non Drafted FAs end up starters. What went wrong with the selection process? //// Kelsey popped up but it should have been kirksey ILB, and I could include Linsley.C. Jones hasn't confirmed anything//// Yes, I would try and resign King. Like Randall, King is a victim now. /// Crystal clear. Gute was hired for his "vision." And Getting Rodgers to the Super-Bowl. //// Conclusion: Anybody can draft. Trading back for a extra rd 1 was a No brainer. Giving up to Much. Foolish! The word Reach comes to mind.

King is totally expendable. Keeping Williams and tree trunk legs is prudent. Would be sad to see Jones go but it’s not the end all. He is a very situational football player.

Give me Linsley, Patrick Peterson and a 2-way DT (R1) and we will win it all in 2021!
