Aptly titled piece for the news that just broke. Thank you for everything Ted, I'm pulling for you with your health!

1 - It was a fluke that TT drafted AR.

See articles describing his effort to trade the pick.

2 - It was a fluke the Pack even made the playoffs the year they won the SB.

Wildcard team that required Philly to return a punt for a TD as time ran out.

3 - W/o those two fluke events, TT nevers sees a SB and has disappointing career as GM.

4 - Recent articles say his health began going downhill during 2014. His front office began leaving him at same time. Too bad Mark Murphy was oblivious.

5 - His last 3 or 4 drafts were extremely poor.

However, his biggest blunders were entrusting his offense and defense to MM and DC, respectively, for so many years. How did he ever choose MM over Sean Payton???

Thank God Almighty the Ted Thompson/Mike McCarthy/Dom Capers era is in the rear view mirror.
GB now has a realistic chance to get another SB before AR hangs them up.

Big supporter of Gutey and Pettine. Jury is still out on LaFleur but hard to believe he isn'y a major upgrade over MM.

As a person/human being, Ted was a hard worker who tried his best but was miscast as a GM. Should have been a regional scout. Did he produce lots of good picks? Yes, but outweighed by too many bad ones. And his draft and develop aversion to signing FA and/or keeping his best vets was his achilles heel.

I get the a lot of people wants to move on from the Ted Thompson era, but they need to stop the disrespecting. He did a great job putting together a super bowl caliber team. It was not a fluke that TT drafted Aaron Rodgers, its just the way the draft ended up, you never know how any player that gets drafted pans out in the future.
