I've read up a bit now that the hire looks on (I assume no one backs out now!) and as we speak, before everything pans out, I am also excited. Now the Draft looks to me be even more of a HUGE stepping stone to put the team in position to immediately make a challenge next year.

We will have 3 picks in the top 50, and a real chance to land a difference maker. Add to that the experience the WRs got this season, and (fingers crossed) if the Secondary can stay healthy there is a solid core.

We need O-Line help NOW though and that needs to be addressed in the 2019 Draft, perhaps even on Day 2.

After the awful end to the season, I'm now looking ahead with high hopes.

The Packaday podcast (Ep.166) was very timely. I am much more comfortable with LaFleur than McDaniels.

He (McD) would have brought an innovative mind to Green Bay but there were many character questions there.

LaFleur bring youth (only 39) energy and I hope another innovative mind. I heard it rumoured he will keep some of the defensive staff intact, particularly Pettine.

I didn't think this years crop was the most exciting group of potential head coaches, but I think the guy we got was my second pre-hire favourite (after Dave Toub).
