Any chance we franchise Aaron Jones, try to work out a deal, and if no joy, sign and trade? At least we get something out of the deal.

If GB lets Jones sign elsewhere, the team probably gets a 4th in 2022.
If GB franchises Jones, what can they get? Maybe a 4th or a 5th (in 2021?) since the acquiring team still has to sign Jones.
If there is no joy, there is a small chance of getting nothing. GB might end up having to rescind the tag like in the Josh Norman situation.

I’m confused (normal state) I thought if they use the non-exclusive rights they would receive 2 number 1’s.
The "non-exclusive rights" franchise tag, meanwhile, allows players to sign an offer sheet with another franchise, but gives their club the right to match the offer. If the team declines, it will receive two first-round draft picks from the franchise the player will join.
